[REQUEST] HP Envy 15-J011SG

Question
Hi Bios-Modders,

I actually tried for 2 weeks to modify and flash this BIOS:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel...b-182832-1

I need the new microcode for CPUID 306C3 which should be version 24.
"cpu306C3_plat32_ver00000024_2018-01-21_PRD_FCD4700E.bin"

No Tools will work and if I try to edit the .bin file by replacing the hex parts and start the flashing process by holding power + win + b (for 5 sek, then unleash power) I only get a black screen. If i try this will the original BIOS there no Problem and the flash process will begin...

I also asked HP but they say that have to discuss whether its updated or not..

Can anyone help me?

Does original BIOS start to flash without file 01966.s12?

Hi Deathbringer,

it's also not working without the *.s12 files.
When I start the Backup-Recovery-Mode I see the USB-Stick is working for 2-3 seconds, but it still remains in blackscreen
and nothing will happen..

I also tried to flash with H2OFFT: IHSI: Flash write error in SMI! SMI Return Code: 0xEF
If I use the HP Flash Tool which was integrated the "Update" is greyed out, so only "create recovery usb flash drive" and "copy" are available.

So you can't flash modded BIOS without RSA sign (01966.s12)...

Hi Deathbringer,

yes, it's the same result. I also tried to replace the MC with MMTool 4.5 it's also the same. Adding a new MC isn't possible in case there's not enough space in this section.

Thank you and best regards
