Asus N53SM BIOS to unlock
#1
Hey guys
This laptop has switchable graphics but my BIOS doesn’t have the required option. The BIOS has pretty much no setting at all provided.
Secondary is getting voltage control, overclocking and the normal BIOS settings a desktop has.

If anyone can direct me to the modding tools or link in a tutorial that would be awesome, as I am new to BIOS modding.
I know that the Intel Drivers which allow switching onboard and he nvidia card are proprietary and there are no linux versions of it. Hence why I need to switch it in the BIOS directly.

Attached is the latest BIOS version I am using from http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=N53SM&os=30
Please help Smile

Good evening, I have read a lot about modding bios, but I can't really find alot about changing the fan speed profile, my laptop(an Asus N53SM) doesn't seem to ever put the fan at max speed, and when iddle the fan is almost stopped, can anyone mod the BIOS file, or explain me how to do it?

I have already tested SpeedFan but it doesn't find a fan controller, so it doesn't work with this laptop.

As far as I understand the fan is in fact controlled by the EC so it might not be easy or even possible to modify the profile.

The BIOS file can be found in here:
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=N53SM&os=30

Best regards.

Hello guys, someone could unlock the latest BIOS of this notebook or, at least, link me to a tutorial/how-to for modding it?
Thanks! Smile

P.S.: the last BIOS version is 205, I'm on the previous one, 204. Should I update it anyway or just flash an unlocked 204, if is it ever possible?

Hi 34kon, i've flash your mod bios into my laptop "n53sm", but the bios lost the gbe, sn and mac adress....

Now the lan adapter not work (error 10), have you got a bios backup?, I've lost my old *.rom...

model: n53s
cn:8500
model asus: n53sm-s1044v
mb ver:n53sm  id:1a

For me is important use only the ethernet adapter, the serial is not necessary...

I used afudos to write the mac adress (i generated a new mac... I don't remember my mac), but the bios is write protected...

Please help...

Hello! I'm new to the forum ... I feel my English, I'm from Argentina > _ <

Mi noteboobk:

Asus N53SM-DS71
i7 2670qm

I would like to know if this BIOS serves to disable the integrated gpu.

I am experimenting to connect an external gpu (by means of mpci wifi and I need to cancel the dedicated gpu)

If someone has knowledge about this project and its configuration, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance!
