HP G4T-1100 CTO: wireless module not supported
#1
Hey there,

I've got an HP G4T-1100 CTO that I got a new wireless card for. The BIOS now gives the lovely 702 Wireless module not supported error. I've been trying to mod it myself but it just doesn't want to accept it. I used Andy's Tool to find the instruction that I believe to be causing the infinite loop (as described here http://donovan6000.blogspot.com/2013/06/...lists.html) and have changed it to a nop, and then imported the module back into Andy's Tool. However, the Insyde Flashing tool says the BIOS can't support the downgrade, even with all checks disabled. (I was able to downgrade from F66 to F64 though).

Here's the backup of my bios from one of the tools you guys use a lot: http://apetrunk.ddns.net:8000/Insyde-F.64.rom

It's a 1666 F64 currently, but the newest version is F66. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only Moddable without an SPI Programmer is this version :

F.24 07-2011 9.40M sp53872.exe Moddable

Downgrade to version F.24 and then flash this one :
ADV

SLIC + NWL + ADV

http://rghost.net/6GSM9f5Cx

let me know

That took care of it. Thanks a bunch.

Did you make that? If so, could you explain what you did, and why newer BIOS versions require an SPI programmer for modded ones, but work fine with stock ones?

Donovan explained here :

http://donovan6000.blogspot.it/2014/10/r...on-me.html

If You followed Donovan's Blog and him posts into many forums You will know
that (I am a real friend of him and I learned much from him, You can find our discussion
on his blog and then) He said many times how HP Bios before 12-2011 date implement an
RSA Check only into the InsydeFlash Dll (moddable) and after that date all Bioses implement
an RSA Check External into DLL and Internal into some Modules !
He Find out How To and publicated on Blog . . . It's not all publicate, but his friends like me
and CodeRush have got the informations so CodeRush tried to make the Bios Mod and He
had to use an SPI Programmer to rewrite back the file into Eeprom Chip to bypass the RSA !
Look here :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...6?p=996407&viewfull=1#post996407

So all credits gone to Donovan6k the Best one for me so far !

This Bios is before 12-2011 :

F.24 07-2011 9.40M sp53872.exe Moddable

So just patch the DLL and It is flashable Wink
Now do You want to see how to patch the DLL, how to patch Setuputility, etc.
Here You go :

http://donovan6000.blogspot.it/2013/06/i...arted.html

All is started here, but I will post Tutorials and Guides, some docs etc. here too !

You find two files above :

Downgrade to version F.24 and then flash this one :
ADV

http://rghost.net/6dTdVzFcD sp53872_ADV_Donovan.zip

SLIC + NWL + ADV

http://rghost.net/6GSM9f5Cx sp53872_SLIC_NWL_ADV_BDMaster_New.rar

So is wrote Donovan for one He made and BDMaster for second I made Wink
