Bios ram table mod
#11
But it doesn't tested before with c2d .
but watch spd file date 2004 when this ram i bought maybe in 2012.
I need find spd file from ddr2 ocz reaper hpc or edit this.

But what doesn't? If you need BIOS mod for microcodes let me know, I can do properly.

That's generic SPD, where is your profiles for the XMP speeds? Dump the SPD and send to me to look at

.zip   kingstone1066.zip (Size: 226 bytes / Downloads: 1) here is spd file.
No i said i tested all bioses with core 2 duo older cpu not e0 and was same. So don't need microcodes in old versions. And i can make it alone i changed many times roms for raid etc. Problem is ram CL4 @790Mhz 100% stable 1.8v CL6 @990Mhz same all fine with just 1.8v and just push to full number 800 or 1000 and in prime starts errors or bsods. I have this pc from 2007... so i tested everything. For example ram at 1030Mhz voltages 2.3v best almost load windows at 2.35v crash even much faster. There is ddr2 vtt i tested -v and +v all voltages doesn't help at all. Funny thing because at those stable speeds (990) this ram working much better than on many other motherboards because just 1.8v.

I meant to try your memory overclock stuff on old BIOS, with new CPU you want to use, that's why I said add microcodes.

There is no EPP profiles in that SPD, so it can only use by default/auto what's set at the highest profile there (800)
Here, try this one, I didn't change to 1066 but did change support to CAS 3,4,5,6 and adjusted following - Main timings to 666-24 for testing, you can lower if you want - tRRD (8), tRFC (98), tRC (35)

And i told you that i tested before every possible bios 12. betas too with 2 cores e2160 what is easier for mobo than quad. Look at timings
tWR = 15 and tWTR=12 when ram timings should be at 800Mhz tWR=6 tWTR=3. Tested today mych settings in bios is wrong but anyway when i lowered those 2 timings by 4 points pc freezes at bios with ram speed 666Mhz.
With FSB 1:1 max stable is 458Mhz with 1.975vdim timing 5-5-5-15 at this speed at auto tRFC was 44 and when i changed to 74 i didn't see any improvement in stability. Just to hold 458Mhz MCH need to be 1.48v and at 456Mhz can be 1.45v(+0,2v).
I read alot forums so many people had problems with 8GB at x38 chipsets many can't even boot at 800Mhz or pass any stability tests.
And what many people talked is that abit have problems with double sided rams like mine kingstone.

And about your spd file I could make this alone but with so much changed tRFC I'm a bit scared to try my bios max settings are 78 if not boot I will have problem. I would like see spd of OCZ reaper because I saw some man running it at 1066Mhz i would like compare it with my ram spd files.

Sorry, didn't know you tried like that already.

So tWR and tWTR, what about those? They are 6 and 3 in the SPD I sent you, same for stock too (since I didn't change those)
You're looking at the wrong timing column in Taiphoon, actual value is on far right column on each side setting

Yes, x38 is tricky. You can try crossflash to X48, many did back then.

Try the SPD I sent, if BIOS cant handle tRFC that way, then it will just use max in it's table.

But abit x48 is only with ddr3. And i don't know why i can't check uguru rom in this bios. In my ddr2 bios i can decompile rom and check voltages in uguru rom but in ddr3 versions i can't.
And about timing tWR, tWTR board on auto make them very high plus there is error in bios if i chose tWR 15 in bios it will be 24 in windows same errors with tWTR bios 15 =21 windows. And spd timings for those r so low that cant even set with those errors in bios + it wont even boot.
I found spd timings for ocz 1066 with epp profile there is tRFC just 71 for 1066Mhz check it.

That's too bad about the DDR3 only with Abit X48 Sad Sometimes uguru is messed up, especially in newer or non-official/beta BIOS.

That tRFC you see in that EPP is a per 2GB module or per 2x2GB kit timing, you're trying to use more than a kit so it needs to be higher. Try the SPD I sent you and see how it goes, put on one stick and test, see what timings are shown in BIOS and windows

Too high error with tWR or tWTR is not going to cause boot failure, only if they were way too low.

I tested those timings but nothing changed or too small to see any difference, check timings:
Max stable FSB 424 with multiplier 1.2 on ram gave 1018Mhz. At 426FSB ram 1022Mhz with voltages 1.975-2.325v wasn't stable MCH 1.25-1.6v didn't help too. Just in 1-5s all errors in prime95-blend. I even increased tWR and tWTR by 2 points and same errors.
For me problem is in bios at time when they created this bioses most people had 2-4Gb. I wonder if this bios from x48 with ddr3 would even boot with 1 stick of ram. There were mainboards with combo slots ddr2 and ddr3 so maybe is possible to boot this. But i saw before on some forum someone had problem with abit ix48 and 8GB ddr3. My board have voltages range for ram 1.8-3v i wonder how much is in the ix48 bios for ddr3.

Can you show that side by side with CPU-z memory tab (Not SPD). That doesn't look like the SPD file in use I sent you, maybe it didn't flash in?
DDR2/3 boards has special BIOS, no way to use anything from an X48 BIOS to move to your board except meminit possibly and I would not do that without a flash programmer in hand for recovery.

The issue could also be simply your CPU can't handle this. Can you run 1000+ stable at a lower FSB, or not possible due to not enough memory multiplier options (Since no MCH or memory strap dividers)?
