[REQUEST] Asus ROG G752VSK(KBL) Bios-Unlock
#31
Great, I finally got it right again Big Grin You're welcome, and thanks to you as well for the quick report back!

Sorry to hear Sad Yes, always need programmer in hand before you change any display related settings in a laptop Sad

You may be able to recover by clearing CMOS for extended period. Remove main battery, CMOS battery and power plug connector, leave like that with no power for 12-24 hours, then try it again. If still no luck, google around for hotkey combo to clear CMOS on this model or similar models, you might find key combo to clear CMOS, this would reset all settings you changed back to default and should enable the display again.

Hello again!
Thank you for your help with bios modding!

With programmer tool i save damaged by me Smile bios and merged it with original Asus bios, then flashed it back and laptop works, had to flash bios again from windows with original working bios, because it had all info like serial number. after successful flashing saved bios using programmer; then flashed bios using your modded bios. everything worked out! :Smile and after all that manipulations i saved bios using programmer again, in case i mess it up, i always can flash it back with good working bios;

the only problem i have, is with graphics chip, i had it before modding bios, just thought with new menu options i can turn off overclocking and it should improve, but it didn't. problem is, when i load any game, graphics turns black, hard to explain exactly, i can see the game, but it gets black outline or getting darker. not sure how to address this.
I was thinking to flash vBios with stock file; not sure if its safe Smile

Lost_N_BIOS!!
Can you give me some help at your free time?
Same family of notebooks/BIOS.

Asus G752VT
Bios source https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/G7...TAS304.zip

I Already have a past of modbios with HP models (from the donovan6000 time)...
The AtpioV is my first bios mod.

My device already can read and flash moded bios.
The basic aptiov app mods already works well.

Yet the CHIPSET still a little bit confuse to me.
I changed the TRUEIF, Tryed to change the 000000000000000000000000000000 from chipset menu, etc. and nothing.

I can reverse what you already do with this rom from the same family of notebook but it's more easy ask you a help.
Can you give me a help? Instead just mod, let me know what need to be done?

My first wish is unlock the chipset. Any further mod I'm to do slowly after understand everything.

I already have a lot of eproms with my bios backup and an external eprom burner.

Thank you in advance. :-)

zimitok - yes, once you have it all sorted and working again with your board details and unlocked etc all at same time, then you can make programmer backup and verify that it's OK by opening in hex and other BIOS tools to make sure it's an actual BIOS and not all FF or 00, then you will have good mod with sys details as backup source you can always recover with.

Show me an image/screenshot of what you mean in games, maybe it's something I could recognize? Could be dying graphics card or overheating (unless it happens instantly), which GFX is loaded when this happens, Intel from CPU or some other GFX? Could also be a driver issue.

wegah - Please give me FPT dump from your system, or can you flash mod stock BIOS without using FPT or programmer? I mean, can you flash with AFU, or do you need to use programmer or FPT for mod BIOS? If you can't flash with AFU, then you should make backup and then mod/reflash/reprogram that, so you don't loose system details (Serial, UUID etc)

On your comment >> I changed the TRUEIF, Tryed to change the 000000000000000000000000000000 from chipset menu, etc. and nothing.
This is not anything I'm aware of as a BIOS mod method, so you'll need to undue that edit or start over with fresh flashed BIOS then backup and mod that backup (So you don't loose serial, UUID, MAC etc - if using FPT or programmer.)

Two type of edits need to be done to this BIOS to unlock chipset, first you need to modify setup module (PE32 as-is) via hex and change the 46 to 47 on the "Suppress If" before chipset as you see below. To get this info, extract Setup/PE32 module as-is, then with Universal IFR extractor get the IFR output so you can see all the menu info and then edit the PE32 module itself via hex

0x15DDC Suppress If {0A 82}
0x15DDE True {46 02} << Here, you need to change to 47=False
Chipset, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0xFFFF, VarStore: 0x0, QuestionId: 0x3, FormId: 0x2713 {0F 0F 20 00 02 00 03 00 00 00 FF FF 00 13 27}

[Image: 3ydC6W2.png]

Ten you need to add chipset menu entry to AMITSE/PE32 module at the list of menus starting at 0x2080h

On the AMITSE/PE32 edit, you'll replace this @ 0x2080h

With this, to add the chipset menu entry (13 27)

4a 10 59 7b 0d c0 58 41 87 ff f0 4d 63 96 a9 15 14 27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
4a 10 59 7b 0d c0 58 41 87 ff f0 4d 63 96 a9 15 16 27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Or if you want, you can simply add this, in place of that last set of zeros = same/same
4a 10 59 7b 0d c0 58 41 87 ff f0 4d 63 96 a9 15 13 27 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Then test and see if chipset shows in BIOS. If still not there, open your mod BIOS in AMIBCP (5.02.0023 or 5.02.0031) and set Chipset access level to user at "Root" of setup, and retest. Sometimes this is necessary, other times you only need to make the non-AMIBCP edits and it will appear. Then of course, once it is enabled and you can see in BIOS, any settings still not visible can be enabled by AMIBCP edit change setting access level to User for each missing setting.

Are you sure this is FPT BIOS region dump? It's incorrect size for the model mentioned in this thread.
Actually, I checked BIOS ID and it's not same either, please link me to your exact BIOS download from Asus

guardianangel - Please confirm which is your system, check CPU with CPU-z.
Everyone before you had VSK, that's why your file was different, best we make sure you are on correct BIOS for your CPU
G752VSK has the Kaby Lake I&-7820HK CPU

The G752VS (7th Gen CPU) has a Kaby Lake i7-7700HQ
OR
The G752VS has Skylake i7 6700HK or i7 6820HQ CPU

This BIOS is not as advanced as the others, totally different and not nearly as many options to unlock.
Please send me images of your BIOS, showing at least one each of Main, Advanced, Boot, and Save & Exit.
Please put them in an archive (zip, rar, 7zip) and resize if you use your camera, 800-1000px wide is plenty, I don't need to see 3-4K high res images Big Grin Thanks
You can possibly use F12 to screenshot to USB directly from the BIOS
