Dell 9350 unlock bios password request
#1
Hi,

I just ordered a used Dell 9350 XPS 13 motherboard from ebay. The seller description stated that is has a bios password lock with some password no one knows. So was wondering if I pull the bios using a flash programmer ch341a and Soic-8 clip can the bios be unlocked, password removed, and reflashed?

Thanks

It should be delivered later today and I have two different flash usb programmers ready for use. Got a ch341a and a FlashcatUSB programmer.

However I know magicians do not like to show how a trick is done though I would like to learn how to do the mod myself.

Take great interest in bios-modding. Anyhow will have the dump ready by tonight if all goes according to plan.

Thank you

Edit: Will probably be about a week. Guy took a week to wrap it up and ship. So much for guarantees.

Finally received the motherboard. Took like 50 tries to get my SOIC test clip to make a solid connection. But finally was able to pull a bios dump:

Hopefully it will be possible to unlock the bios password lock thats in place.

Thanks

Hi here is a photo of the password request page the seller gave me:

I think there might be a simpler method to unlock this based on a youtube video I saw where you put a serial number into a code breaking algorithm at bios-pw.org. Not sure if that will work but worth a try. As of yet though I have not installed the motherboard into the laptop. Will probably do so this weekend.

Try to flash this modded dump, then power on, reboot, power off and make new BIOS dump.

Wanted to thank you for putting in the effort to mod the bios. Wish I logged in sooner because I was able to hack the password using that bios-pw.org site. So I didn't have to mod the rom at all. I am really really sorry that you put such an effort into this. Spent the last 5 hours taking apart my old motherboard in the XPS 13 and putting in the new motherboard. Got it working almost.

Thanks again
