[Request] Alienware 17 R2 bios unlock
#31
Thank you so much , its perfect , tons of new settings to play with.
Exit tab indeed was replaced with save & exit. Big Grin
I would have never thought that this bios had so many hidden menus.
Again thanks for this , very appreciated.

Awesome to hear it's all perfect as-is, I hoped I had it all correct but it's tough to do blindly sometimes without being able to see what it looks like on screen until after someone else flashes it.

You're very welcome, enjoy all those new settings!! And as I mentioned, don't mess with disabling, enabling, switching etc on the graphics options until you have a flash programmer in your hand and have made a backup with the programmer that you've then confirmed was a valid BIOS dump before you try making any graphics related changes.

Experienced that already , disabled the integrated graphics and it wouldn`t boot , luckily i was able to bring it back to like with a blind flash.

Lucky you knew how to setup/do the blind flash Big Grin

I forgot to ask, are you now able to see the Software Feature Mask Configuration page where you can enable RAOD0-RAID10 options individually, and enable or disable the oRom UI Banner etc (lots of related RAID/RST settings)

Should be at chipset >> SATA And RST Configuration >> Software Feature Mask Configuration

Thanks, good to know it's there too for anyone wondering later on.

I know some folks over at notebook review would kill for this little gem , but i won`t mention anything unless you give me the permission.

You're fine to mention it over there, but the BIOS are made one by one, per user, since I edit your dumped BIOS and not stock. So users there can't use your BIOS, they would need to come here and request personal edit after providing their FPT BIOS region dump.

Thanks , but not sure how many would come over and start bugging you , maybe better leave it alone.
