Toshiba Satellite L500-1UU PSLS9E BIOS Unlock And Other Things
#1
Hello everyone.

I want to unlock SecureCore Tiano BIOS but I can't read BIOS file with Phoenix Bios Editor.

Thanks.

link me to the stock BIOS download and I will check for you and see what tools can work with it.

What model is this system so I can keep this BIOS in a properly named folder, is it Toshiba Satellite L500?

This is EFI / Insyde BIOS / Phoenix combo type BIOS.

Neither Phoenix BIOS Editor 2.2.013 or 2.2.1.3 can work with this BIOS. There may be some older or newer version that can work with it, but those are the only two I know about.

PhoenixTool 2.73 can work with this BIOS, to edit, recompile, exchange SLIC (This tools main goal)

Intel FITc, as well as all Intel ME tools from the ME System Tools package for V6, can work with this BIOS, to recompile, and update ME FW etc,

Intel EZH2O 2.1.0.4 can work with this BIOS, but that tool is not for unlocking. MMTool 5.0.0.7 and 4.50.0023 can also work with this BIOS, as well as UEFITool (both of these can be used in unlocking process, to edit setup module, would suggest using UEFITool v25). Using UEFITool, extract raw sections as-is of SetupMain, SetupAdvanced, security etc and then use universal IFR extractor 0.7 to get IFR output, then hex edit to unsuppress items hidden from you via hex editor, then replace with UEFITool.

I can send you some quick single setting test edits, so I can tell you which way is best to unsuppress an item if you want, but you'll need to show me some images of Advanced BIOS page so I can see what you can and can't see right now.

Do you have flash programmer? If yes, send me a dump from the BIOS to edit instead of stock BIOS package, in case UEFI Winflash wont flash in mod BIOS.

Or, we can use FPT Dump (I suggest this method over all others, unless you have flash programmer) >>
go to this thread and in the section "C" download the V6 ME System Tools Package
https://www.win-raid.com/t596f39-Intel-M...Tools.html

Once downloaded, inside you will find Flash Programming Tool folder, and inside that a Windows or Win/Win32 folder. Select that Win folder, hold shift and press right click, choose open command window here (Not power shell).
At the command prompt type the following command and send me the created file to modify >> FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin

Right after you do that, try to write back the BIOS Region dump and see if you get any error, if you do show me image of the command entered and the error give >> FPTw.exe -bios -f biosreg.bin

If you are stuck on Win10 and cannot easily get command prompt, and method I mentioned above does not work for you, here is some links that should help
Or, copy all contents from the Flash Programming Tool \ DOS folder to the root of a USB Bootable disk and do the dump from DOS (FPT.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin)

Thanks.
This BIOS is for Satellite L500-1UU (PSLS9E).

UPDATE:
Phoenix BE Pro give this error message : "No BCPs found". (v2.2.13)
And I can't find 2.2.013 and 2.2.1.3 .

These files, right?

Yes, I told you Phoenix BIOS editor cannot open this file, or the full (4MB) BIOS I extracted from the exe and it's 4.3MB BIOS file

Yes, one of those ME System tools if your ME FW version is 6.xx, I don't know your ME FW version so I can't tell you which unless you show me the ME FW version.
Only one will work, so you'll find out which soon if you try both Big Grin

FITc v6 works. But, I can't make it because this process is complicated.

FITc v6, yes I explained that worked above too. What are you trying to do here, FITc is only used to update ME FW and must be used following a guided process with proper files too. If you want a link to the guide to update ME using FITc let me know and I will link you to it. But, this has nothing to do with unlocking your BIOS.

Send me FPT dump of your BIOS region as requested above, I will see about unlocking it for you.
