Xeon Support for GA-X58-USB3
#31
one more thing.
can someone please point out, what is the limiting factor for memory not exeeding 10x multiplier with BCLK above 200?
well - i can set multiplier higher and in BIOS it show RAM speed of 2400mhz, but post screen only shows 2000mhz and so does all the software.
here is link to mobo spec page:

so the question could be - is it restricted in mobo`s BIOS, or is it limited by CPU memory controller?

either way, can this be `unlock` by help of local wizardry?

Show a foto of the page in BIOS with RAM speed. And POST message...
BTW: in your TXT report of CPU-Z I see only 1600 MHz for memory.
Memory Type DDR3
Memory Size 8 GBytes
Channels Dual
Memory Frequency 800.0 MHz (2:8)
CAS# latency (CL) 8.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 8
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 8
Cycle Time (tRAS) 22
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) 128
Command Rate (CR) 1T

Set BCLK Frequency to 133 and System Memory Multiplier to 11.
Make new TXT report of CPU-Z.

unfortunately my BIOS does not have option for odd multipliers for sytem memory, only even (10 or 12), so i did BCLK 133 and memory multiplier x12.

BTW: i was wrong on my initial statement. BCLK has no effect on memory multiplier. system memory multiplier x12 does not work with any BCKL that i have tried. Sad

As I thought.
Memory controller in L5640 supports speed up to 1333 Mhz with standard FSB (BCLK) = 133 Mhz. So x10 is the supported maximum for System Memory Multiplier.

Hi

I was looking for a modded bios and already found myself one that was modded for X5650.

Checked the CPU ID of the X5660. CPU ID: 000206C2.
Checked the bios with MC Extractor And the microcode 206C2 had a big fat No.

Is there anyone here that can help me out or guide me on this bios mod?

Kind regards
