Hello from Germany,
is it possible to boost my two Xeon X5690 to 28x multiplier allcore at turbo?
The cpu's can go to 28x multi but not allcore so it would be nice to have an allcore turbo with 28x multi for little bit more performance.
A BIOS Unlock would be nice too, i hope someone can help me with that.
I got an Supermicro X8DAH+-F with two X5690 watercooled, 84GB ram at 1333MHz triplechannel and a Vega64 liquid.
And i use an 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVMe M.2 that boots windows with Clover bootloader. https://habr.com/ru/post/472224/
The PC runs really smooth and silent, the temps of the board are really good even at fullload or after hours of playing i checked with infrared thermometer.
Here is my current BIOS: https://www.supermicro.com/about/policie...temID=1585

What i tried so far to get x28 multi, i used RW-Everything and added 0x1AD, 0x199 and 0x198 in CPU MSR Registers.
0x1AD pressing done without changing value = (BSoD)
0x198 pressing done without chaning value = (BSoD)
But i can change values in 0x199 so i was playing around and look what happens.
Changing value in red blocks = (BSoD)
Changing value in green blocks work.
And changing value in 0x199 will also change value in 0x198.
1B = Multi x27 (default value)
A - F with 0 value = Multi x12
AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, FF = Multi x26
AA, AB, AC, AD, AE, AF
BA, BB, BC, BD, BE, BF
CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CF
DA, DB, DC, DD, DE, DF
EA, EB, EC, ED, EE, EF
FA, FB, FC, FD, FE, FF
1A - 9A = Multi x26
2B - 9B = Multi x26
And i stopped trying because it looks like it doesn't work this way and i don't know what im doing.
EDIT:
I played around with the Bus Speed and look at the behavior of the CPU. Maybe it's a power target thing.
So when i overclock the BCLK to 138MHz the multiplier goes down for some reason, when i downclock BCLK the multi goes up to x29, wtf.

Can you boot with one CPU only?
Make TXT-report of CPU-Z

Bad news - this CPU hasn't programmable multipliers for Turbo Boost.
Look at 28th bit of MSR_PLATFORM_INFO (MSR with address 0x1A0). It equals to zero.

Oh that sucks :/
Is there a way to raise the BCLK a little bit up, maybe 136 or 139MHz?
And i got an little bug with my Graphicscard, on cold boot GPU-Z says it runs at x1 speed and i get 60fps ingame.
When i reboot the PC GPU-Z says the card runs at x16 speed and i get over 100fps ingame. The GPU is installed in PCI-E Slot6, i tried other slots and i got the same bug, a little bit annoying.
Is it possible to force the slot to x16 speed?
