Your laptop is base on GL40 withou support of FSB=1066 Mhz. So you can't use your P8600. T8100, T8300, T9300 and T9500 are recommended.
Thank you very much DeathBringer, you are the man So now I will look for 800mhz CPU. THANKS!

Copy phlash16.exe and file with mod (JV50134m.WPH)
Boot into native DOS and run phlash16 /x /s /c /mode=3 JV50134m.WPH
still works, thanks a lot.

I'm not very experienced in this matter, but I still took a chance and tried to update the BIOS using a flash drive created by the Rufus program with the addition of the files described in the post above and I succeeded, and now the laptop boots without errors.
I apologize for the extra hassle.

Hi ! Kinda new here, absolutely flabbergasted that this thread is almost 15 years old and still somewhat active.
I recently upgraded from a T4500 to a T9300 (GL40 chipset, official BIOS v1.33) on my Acer Aspire 5738, but it doesn't seem to work out of the box. I can get to the BIOS and it shows that the CPU is correctly recognized, but i can't get my pc to boot to windows. It sort of "boot cycles" constantly. I tried booting into a bootable USB drive with the windows installation media in it, and it does show the windows logo for a split second but then it stops immediately and shows a black screen. Missing microcode maybe ?

There you go ! I put back the T4500 in to take that screenshot (seems to confirm that the problem comes from the upgrade). Quick sidenote, i was surprised to see that the chipset isn't the GL40 but the GM45.
