REQUEST Acer Predator Orion 9000 bios unlock hidden menu's.
#1
I wish to be able to see the overclocking tabs and memory timing etc ,
If anyone can help me out that would be great.

I tried AMIBCP but i get an error that the setup tab will not be displayed due to the amount of string in the bios exceeds 15000.

Included the bios
Cheers

Hi Ladies and gents,

Just wondering if we are able to mod this Acer predator orion 9000 p09-600_rgb Bios R01-a2 to unlock all the overclocking features.

Or if there is already a modified Bios for this model but i was unable to find one.

Look forward to your replies,

-- Zeffer

This model's processor is 8700k ,so by Intel's game rule if motherboard were z series chipset  ,i think you can try oc by intel xtu utility.

I could try edit bios menu with model ,use this tool to dump bios and attach it.(Run dump.bat as administrator )

Hi Genius239,

Yes board is a z370, i have dumped the bios i had to use dropbox to attach due to the size being to large (see below link), it was more really to enable XMP and memory timings but would love the processor options also if possible,

Thanks for the fast reply cant wait.

Like i said , you can try intel xtu utility to oc ,and don't expect too much an oem computer manufacturer have good pcb design or better oc option in bios ,they're be inferior to common retail motherboard manufacturer.(such as ASUS , Gigabyte , Msi...etc)

This machine satusfy z series board and k processor ,so you can try xtu to oc at first.

I also will try edit menu ,if it possible.

Do you have hardware spi programer??
I open the dump bios with uefitool 0.25.1 then the tool crumble , only other version can open it but some warn appear.
https://images2.imgbox.com/33/a3/UD7DA6s9_o.png
It still can be extract module and replace ,but i'm flraid it has problem.

So ,i suggest you before have a spi programer don't modify it , it may bricked.

Hi Genius239,

So no way to unlock XMP memory profiles without a programmer i may have to get one, It does have a dual bios so if the dump had problems i could always reflash with the dual.

Hmm wonder what to do really want to unlock XMP as my new ram is ddr3600 and its locking it to 2400 as the bios is so locked down.

If you can recover bios yourself ,i can make modded let you test at your risk.
Programer is only for safety.
You can open bios with amibcp ,then you van view all of structure of menu.

8700k highest only support ddr4 2666 freq ,even you enable xmp ,it still no help ,unless this board can bear this overclock or it will not boot.

Xmp is only a oc data that stored in memory pcb.
And i told you two times ,you can overclock processor with xtu ,why don't you try?

Try below way to changes setup variable to switch memory profile.
Grub efi file-->here

1.
Copy folder "EFI" to a usb pen drive that already format to fat32 then reboot system  ,then boot this usb device as uefi model ,it will enter to GRUB shell environment.

2.
Type setup_var 0x8C5 0x2  or 0x8C5 0x3 to changes memory to XMP profile 1 or XMP profile 2.
You can see related address and variable in below.

Setting: Memory profile, Variable: 0x8C5 {05 91 89 16 8A 16 AC 27 01 00 C5 08 14 10 00 03 00}

This way didn't need flash bios ,you can try it.
