[REQUEST] Lenovo ThinkPad X131e (Intel, G8ETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
(02-04-2020, 06:01 PM)BillyGfromPhillyP Wrote: Hello Dudu2002. (I like the way that rhymes). I read the link you provided for first timers using the BIOS programmer and SOIC Clip to flash the BIOS and make the dump and I was surprised to learn one has to fully remove the motherboard from the computer -OR- did I misunderstand that part of the instructions? I ask because several Youtube videos that demonstrate the process never indicated complete removal of the motherboard was necessay. The Lenovo is not my primary use computer and is essentially an emergency backup so completely removing the motherboard and risking some [censored] up putting it back together is unnerving.
you just need to access the bios chip

Thank you sir. As soon as I receive the CH341a programmer and SOIC Clip (I ordered one on E-Bay) I will email the dump to you at your private email.

Hi there,

I'd be glad if you can delete whitelisting of batteries, WLAN and 3G/4G cards  for my Lenovo IdeaPad X131e.

Model: ThinkPad X131e cpu Intel i3-3227u
Current UEFI BIOS Version: G8ET90WW (2.50) - date: 2012-12-26
Current Embedded Controller Version: G8HT51WW 2.01

I have also made a "result.rar" file using testback.exe - sendspace link: https://www.sendspace.com/file/8z4869

Thank's for help!

Hi
Your bios is rewrite protected...you need a SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only
P.S. "Battery whitelist" does not exist...the control of the battery is carried out by the EC

BIOS: G9ET90WW (2.5)
Embedded Cont: G9HT50WW (2.00)
AMD E2-1800

does anyone know how long the flash process should take? I tried flashing from USB and its stuck on "Read BIOS file and onboard BIOS..." nothing happens even after waiting almost 15 mins. I turned the computer off and removed the usb and it boots into windows like normal so obviously the BIOS flash tool is not working. I tried this twice now with the same results. It never gets past the first screen.

Nevermind I finally got it to work after I used a different USB drive. The first drive is used was an off brand and the one that works was a kingston drive. Anyway, thanks to Dudu2002 for the help.
