[Request] ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition G513 (AMD)

(08-20-2021, 09:50 PM)CoolBeans Wrote: Ok, that makes sense. I'll get one ordered and keep my fingers crossed I don't brick my laptop lol but that's on me of course.
I tried using the built in attachment stuff but no luck so I put it here: https://file.io/G22OL5FLXqrk

Latest version 311 (complements of windows update without asking of course lol)

While there is always the risk of an unrecoverable brick, we'll take a few BIOS dumps first and compare them to each other and an official BIOS update to make sure everything is consistent in case we need them should something go wrong.

I checked out the link but the website says that the file was deleted. We have been implementing some changes here that have changed allowed file uploads (for now). Are you able to upload a ".rar" file?

is it possible that i need to dissasembly the complete G15?

Ok, did it but now im confused because i'm not sure if the programme is the right one. on the bios chip i have winbond 74M12JWPIQ/2111/6108/M0058

Edit: looks like the programmer don't know the chip i try two different programmer software and both not find the chip.

My experience here is limited, but it looks like your BIOS chip requires the 1.8v converter for the CH341A according to this document (I found it Google searching the model number of your BIOS chip "74M12JWPIQ"): https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjGsfy438PyAhUQJTQIHdkcDX4QFnoECAYQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic6.arrow.com%2Faropdfconversion%2F4f4bceac1346022d4e8ae2d362e00a17efe169a2%2Fw74m12jw20reva.pdf&usg=AOvVaw1lqsS_mir_fdI1kTSFlJkz ).

The CH341A, by default, delivers 3.3v.
