Asus Strix G512LV Bios Unlock

@Kay123

Doing cpu undervolt can reduce a bit cpu temperature.
If the model name of yours is g512lv ,please going to bios then navigate to Advanced => Voltage Configuration ,tune value under option "Core Voltage Offset" can let you do cpu undervolt with maximum value -80mv.

hi, genius239, i have already undervolted the cpu to -80mv in bios. but unfortunately it doesnt seem to help much. while gaming temps are still hitting 95c and fluctuating. while browsing the temps shoot up to high 70s and then come back down. and im always running max fans due to this issue.
thanks for the reply

1. I've mentioned cpu undervolt only can provided a bit improvement ,i believe it still can reduce little temperature. Are you're the undervolt is really activate?you can check the result with Throttlestop.
Here is did undervolt -80mv and in g732lws.

2.Fan running at max speed is not an issue ,as the temperature is too high ,so it need discharge the hot air ASAP.

3.If -80mv is not enough ,tune it to more is possible.
I think -100mv to -120mv is a safe region.

Just out of curiosity ,why don't you to ask a bios dump file from a g512lv owner.

Hi, I have an asus laptop with a 10th gen i7 10750h cpu which was locked and couldnt be undervolted. I was able to get some help by a bios guru genius 239 who was able to break the restriction of -80mv in the bios. And then I was able to undervolt to -100mv without crashing. But this is still not enough as my laptop is still hitting the 90 to 95 degrees and then throttling. I did some research and found out that undervolting in bios also applies to cpu cache as well as cpu core. There is no option in the bios to individually tweak the settings for cpu core and cache. because 10th gen cpus can be undervolted to -150mv on the core but the cpu cache cant be undervolted as much which causes instability and is the reason why i cant undervolt more.

According to your research results ,could you tell me which options can individually tune the cpu cache voltage in the bios ? Because even if we adjust Core Voltage Offset under OverClocking Performance Menu =>Processor , undervolt still will react to cpu core and cpu cache simultaneously. So ,i want to know which one can do this.

Here is a screenshot form a unlocked FX506LI bios. It's under Advanced =>OverClocking Performance Menu =>Processor.

This FX506LI owner also tell me how him to reduce the temperature.
He decrease the boost multipliers from 45;44;43;42 to 35;34;33;32 and limit tdp on pl1 and pl2.

I want to use throttlestop to undervolt the cpu core and cpu cache seperately.  i have included a screenshot when unclewebb explains why the cpu cache cannot be undervolted as much as the core. i dont think these settings can be available through bios

You said that you don't think these settings can be available through bios ,but you mentioned these at #16.
I did some research and found out that undervolting in bios also applies to cpu cache as well as cpu core

So this is why i ask you which options are available for Individually undervolt to cpu cache in the bios. I want to know the actual option name in bios ,instead of a theory.

You could try disable "CFG Lock" and "Overclocking Lock" in bios to activate Throttlestop. Undervolt is not the only way to reduce cpu tempature ,go down the cpu freq or decrease the boost core multipliers are feasible else.

i didnt mean to say there are options in bios regarding the cpu cache. what i meant to say is that whenever i apply a cpu undervolt in bios, it will automatically apply the same for the cpu cache. but if i use throttlestop to undervolt i will be able to undervolt the cpu core, and cpu cache seperately. i hope this clarifies.
And regards to the CFG Lock and overclocking lock, I dont have these options in the bios.
