Hello.
I have an Acer Veriton M275 board. Updated to the latest BIOS version Date: 2012/03/05 Version: P01.C2.
As the processors have come down in price as well as the ram memories. I took the time to test different configurations of DDR3 ram memory, in the 2 slots of the motherboard.
Intel® Pentium™ E5800 (3.20 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2MB Cache) supports 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3 (1333Mhz or 1066Mhz).
Intel® Core ™ 2 Duo E7600 (3.06 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3MB cache) supports 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3 1066Mhz
Intel® Core ™ 2 Duo E8600 (3.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB, 6MB cache) supports 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3 1066Mhz
Intel® Core ™ 2 Quad Q9650 (3.00 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB, 8MB cache) supports 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3 1066Mhz
I have the impression that the board was locked to allow more ram to those processors that handle 800mhz FSB, lagging the processors with 1066mhz and 1333mhz FSB at only 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
Hope it helps someone.
Note: I support unlocking the maximum amount of Ram memory in the BIOS for the latest processors such as the Intel® Core ™ 2 Duo E8600 and the Intel® Core ™ 2 Quad Q9650. With all that has been advanced in the knowledge of the BIOS, it would be very useful to unlock this BIOS.
Greetings!
