[REQUEST] Asus GL703GS BIOS Unlock
#31
@hexaae

If you only need to activate Intel XTU or ThrottleStop, downgrade bios to version 309 or 310 ,then block Windows driver update to automatically secret update bios. This is best way to you.

Yes already downgraded to 310, but was curious if unlocked BIOS could disable undervolt Intel lock... Just to keep the latest BIOS without undervolt lock.

@stephgsec
It seems that my comment was deleted ,so i ask again. What features do you need in the bios?

@genius239

Thanks for answering !
Well, if you could unlock every hidden features, it would be great. Otherwise, everything related to overclocking and voltage control (and fan control, if it exists). I want my laptop to run faster and cooler.

Many thanks

1.
Laptops platform didn't allow you overclocking cpu ,and on ASUS 8th and 9th gen laptop if you adjust cpu voltage(Core Voltage Offset) in the bios ,it may cause undervolt crash then your laptop will die and it can't be revert through rewrite bios. If you wanna overclocking ,i will suggest you replace a desktop mainboard.
2.
Bios can't directly control fan speed ,on laptop platform it be control by EC.

3.
I think you want to run your laptop at faster and cooler is contradictory , high performance will bring higher temperature is very normal. I wil suggest you do undervolt via Throttlestop to decrease the cpu temperature.

4.
If you still wanna attempt the mod ,check the PM

1. Oh ok, very useful information, thanks. I've been reading it's best to undervolt via BIOS on this laptop, I did not know it could cause that (in fact I thought the undervolt could be reverted)

2. I was almost sure BIOS could not control fans on this laptop, you just confirmed that

3. Well I could see what you mean, but it's not entirely contradictory : using throttlestop I could undervolt the CPU (-150mV) and also raise PL1/PL2 to stop the power throttling. As a result, the CPU now runs faster (sort of) and cooler (repasting also helped with temps).

4. Many thanks. Then, if the BIOS doesn't allow overclocking and undervolting via BIOS is not advised, what other hidden features could be useful on this laptop ?

Hello @genius239

It woud be awesome if you could mod my BIOS. I'm mainly looking for the memory xmp profile tab. Here is my dump:

Thanks in advance!

@banti
1. Your mod was done.

2. After flashing the mod and get the advance menus unlocked , then you could refer to this article to tune the memory freq.
