[REQUEST] Asus ROG G732LWS BIOS Unlock
#21
Hi! Could you please help me to unlock the bios of Asus Strix Scar G732LWS?
I need to set my Ram to 3200 mhz and also do a better undervolt on cpu/gpu (cpu is locked to - 80 on my bios, unfortunately).
Also, I have a dev version of Windows 11 (don't know if this could be a problem).

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Gamin...SAS314.zip

This is the last version of bios for my laptop (from Asus website)

Well i have a question to anyone with already unlocked BIOS and already figured his way around it.

The recommendation from @genius239 is:
"Disable option "CFG Lock" and "Overclocking Lock" in the bios ,can let you activate ThrottleStop ,then you could do cpu undervolt again."

Now...for the ones that had the "Voltage Offset" option present before unlock,that can go up to 80 only.
Should i leave this enabled and the voltage field set to zero(0),or set to 80 or just disable the whole thing altogether?
Edit: Disabled option "CFG Lock" and "Overclocking Lock" + "Voltage Offset" Enabled and set to zero(0) = no ill effects,all good ?

Also @Sakiwinkie any tips on what can be disabled without any ill efects would be much,much appreciated.
Curious about there is a option to unlock the multiplier. Latency wise,isn't better to unlock it and then in Throttlestop to disable the Turbo
and set all cores to run at certain frequency? Generally speaking here,this is what users do on regular PC's for better performance.

Regarding the Bitlocker....
This is what i know. It will turn on(without any concent) if user is signed in with it's Microsoft Account.
Very likely if sign off before the whole procedure will not trigger it.
But just to be on the safe side:
Go to Services and disable it's service(can't miss it,easy to find)
Open Notepad,paste this and save it as bitlocker-off.reg:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BitLocker]
"PreventDeviceEncryption"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\FVE]
"OSAllowedHardwareEncryptionAlgorithms"=dword:00000000

Merge the reg file and restart.
These are my findings,but on my end i'm with Windows LTSC which doesn't require to sign in with Microsoft Account in the first place(i don't even have one) so keep this in mind.

@Danilouliano

Hi~guy something you need to understand before start the bios modification.
1. Nvidia graphic has an independent vbios ,so we can't control it through bios. You can only attempt is try other software to tune it such as MSI afterburner.

2. ASUS only gave you -80mv restriction to cpu undervolt ,as they felt this was a safe range. I can extend this range by bios modify but i still think do cpu undervolt via Throttlestop is more safe for users. On most conditions -100mv~120mv already is a very great performance of undervolt.

3. Yes , you could change memory freq by load xmp profile or adjust settings manually in unlocked menus. But i will tell you ,not all laptops can run 3200mhz as stable ,now referring to many users feedback 2933hmz is the best stable memory freq.

4. If you wanna get a mod ,first disable Bitlocker in your system then make a bios dump with this tool then attach the file. (Run dump.bat as administrator)

Thanks for the answer!
This is the link of the bios dump: https://we.tl/t-jciJbH0WWX
I think I disabled Bitlocker when I was making a clone of the os on another drive, bitlocker's option is missing from my control panel but I think that is ok. Regarding cpu's undervolt: it would be nice if you can do the same you did for the other guys from the previous mods.
"CFG Lock" and "Overclocking lock" are missing from my bios, but i think that with these option I could try to undervolt CPU with Throttlestop (can't do it now, because of bios limitations I think). Thank you again for your kindness!

**LITTLE UPDATE**
Guys. Genius239 is amazing. Everything is working well and he was so kind with me, he lost his time explaining me how to do anything.
Please, be sure to support him: he has also a paypal channel. His work is huuuge, and deserves more support from the community. Even with a small amount.
Have a nice day and thanks again, Genius!

@Dog1995

Tell you a correct concept ,as long as processor temperature hasn't over than 100 degrees it still in normal work region. And there are several cpu protection mechanisms to avoid cpu burn ,such as PROCHOT..etc. So cpu will not be burned. 80 to 90 degrees is already very low temperature when it in higher loading(such as playing game) ,i guess that you already did cpu undervolt through ASUS built-in Voltage Configuration menu. If you didn't do undervolt ,i think it will arrive to 95 degrees easily and even over than 100 degrees then the cpu freq will go down.

You should feel fortunate that ASUS has provided the built-in undervolt features ,as most laptops will not provide it ,people usually do it via Throttlestop or XTU. Max -80mv should is a best safe value they identified.

I can break the restriction of -80mv under Voltage Configuration menu , if you're gonna try and at your own risk ,i can make a mod for you.
(1) First temporarily disable Bitclocker if the operating system has enabled it.
(2) Make a bios dump with this tool then attach the file. (Run dump.bat as administrator.)

Thanks genius239!, via Throttlestop or XTU is locked I can't change anything

1. Your mod was done.

2. I added the max undervolt ambit to -130mv under Voltage Configuration menu.

3. If you want to activate the Throttlestop ,disable "CFG Lock" and "Overclocking Lock" in bios. These options is under Advanced >> Power & Performance >> CPU - Power Management Control >> CPU Lock Configuration
