[REQUEST] Acer Aspire 5730ZG BIOS Unlock

You can.
By the way, the one I gave you link to was edited quite rough and not all settings are unlocked. If you're satisfied with it you may not change the BIOS.

I don't dare to judge which one is better, but mine is at least easier to install.

EGR-123 BIOS mod.
CPK-105 BIOS mod.

I don't know why it happened. Maybe DOS is not the best way to install BIOS for this machine. Acer provided only executables, but the notebookreview users were using DOS and everything was fine.
None of my previous Phoenix BIOS mods caused the device to die, so I doubt my changes were the culript of all this. However, I am sure that there is no such person who could find a mistake in the mod from me. And here are the changed modules for anyone's sake.

Let's put it aside. The recovery topic is more relevant.
So, you made a recovery pen drive and what is the problem with starting the recovery process? Make sure you are using the correct key combination, which is Fn+Esc.

Hi,
Iam not saying that its your fault Wink if it is someone fault that would be me i think Smile shouldnt mess with BIOS ;/

I use the right key combination. FN+ESC but its not working... Or maybe its working but i Cant see it.

When i normalny turns laptop on i makes one long beep and two short beeps and multimedia key lights turns on... And then its only black screen...

When i use Fn+ESC then there is no beep sound but multimedia Keys lights on and the screen is black. It does not matter if recovery pendrive is plugged in or it is t.

1-2-2 code means the direct memory access controller failure.
In your case a simple BIOS installation couldn't break the DMA controller, so it is a software (BIOS) error. I didn't make any changes in direction of memory. Do you remember what BIOS version did you have?

Problem found.
There are BIOS with part number CPK and BIOS with part number EGR. It looks like some configurations of the Aspire 5730 used the motherboard from the Aspire 5330 and that is CPK, and some used the same motherboard with the Aspire 5930 - EGR, and that explains why they share the same BIOS.
The fact is that the latest released version of the CPK is 1.05, so I can assume that yours was with EGR part number. The wrong BIOS was installed. The same thing could have happen vice versa.

Did you have any luck with recovering the BIOS yet? I have no idea what to do.
