[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E430 & E530 (H0ETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
I tried to install an intel AX210 and rewrote the PCI ID, but something went wrong and it remained locked.
Is it possible to bypass the whitelist?

Hi
1. "Battery whitelist" does not exist...the control of the battery is carried out by the EC
2. Need your bios dump.

Would you or someone give me a steer about my E530 Lenovo. I see several members have had great success. I downloaded one of their bin files a few posts above to get an idea of what to do. I KNOW those files are NOT for my E530, just viewing them for learning sake. Like most here I ONLY want to remove the crappy whitelist so I can use any wifi card I want with my E530. I have been looking at some mini-PCIe 6E cards even. For now while I continue looking, my first step is to remove the whitelist blockage.

I just received my ch341a programmer today. BTW -- all my machines use Debian 11 bare metal, but I also use VM's. I removed Windows from my E530 years ago. Linux all the way!! Therefore I plan to use flashrom because it works slick with linux bare metal, unless you tell me that is a bad idea.

Observation: I downloaded some motherboard pics for the E530 and it appears to have an eeprom with two flash memories next to it. The programmer clip will likely attach easily to the eeprom but it seems small to attach to the larger memories. I have read posts where you say to get the "full dump" but I am unclear as to how to do that or even what they would be other than reading the eeprom and saving the contents. I am familiar with the basic flashrom terminal commands and I know how to do sha256sums for verification along the way. Also I have watched youtube videos and feel like I can handle the laptop disassembly to the point where I can see the chips. I haven't done that yet because I am determining if this project is in my "wheel house" before creating a brick, LOL!

I will be using a ThinkCentre Desktop running Deb 11 to read the E530 bios from its board.

I have read you post many times----- > "I need your file dump". How do I do that on this E530 regarding multiple chips on the motherboard? Regarding the ch341a programmer, will I be using the 25 spi slot or the 24 eeprom to connect the cabling to the programmer on the E530.

Lenovo E530
UEFI Bios HOET98WW
Machine type 62724GU
UEFI Secure Boot Off
UEFI/Legacy Boot ----- Legacy only
Installed memory 8192 MB

ps ---- sendspace/cloudfare hate my network. Mediafire works like a charm on my end just in case files need to be sent back and forth.

Hi
I replied to your message
Check your PM

I wanted to come back here and PRAISE Dudu2002 for his fantastic work.  It took me over a week to get my new wifi card so I could confirm his Mod.  The Mod.bin file was returned about an hour after I sent him my original bios bin file.  I flashed the Mod.bin back the next day and it has been running for over a week with the original wifi card.  Just now I installed an Intel AX210 card in a laptop that came with WiFI 4.  It should now be able to run 6E!!

Its late here so I haven't messed with locating the drivers for my Linux system.  BUT  -------- > the computer came up fine and I am using a LAN Ethernet until I go and grab needed linux drivers tomorrow.

At least the whitelist is now GONE!!!!

Thanks again to Dudu2002!!!!!!!!

Hello all,

I have a Lenovo E430 that my mother uses. The current Broadcom 2.4ghz wifi card is awful. I want to replace with a proper 5 ghz card.

I took a BIOS dump.

My bios is H0ET98WW (2.58 )

If you need any other information or file, I am ready to provide.

Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody!

I want to use eGPU with my Thinkpad E530, bios version H0ETA0WW. I have only iGPU Intel HD3000 onboard. As I learned from eGPU forums, I need to enable switchable graphics in bios to activate eGPU, but I have no such option in my bios. I suspect it is hidden because my mb has no physical dGPU installed. I wonder if it is possible to enable switchable graphics by bios modification or maybe in some other way?
I will greatly appreciate any help
