Hi there,
I own a Zotac Zbox Magnus One ECM 73070C, and noticed whenever the PC gets a workload, its fans start to speed up significantly, sounding like a jet engine. I would like to find a way to tone this down WITHOUT endangering the CPU / hardware, but if possible without loosing much processing power. Maybe you could help me out and answer a few questions to enlighten a noob like me?
1. Whoever owns a Magnus One too, could you maybe tell me alternative BIOS and/or fan settings to achieve such an effect, that are confirmed to be secure? I was not able to find a documentation of the Zotac BIOS anywhere, let alone suggestions for alternative settings... does anyone have one?
2. I was told undervolting the CPU could do the trick, but for that I need an unlocked BIOS. But:
2.1. What tool(s) do I need to dump the BIOS? (just the one posted in this thread?)
2.2. What tool(s) do I need to re-flash the modded BIOS?
2.3. Why can only the BIOS dump from a particular PC be unlocked and re-flashed? I thought all Zotac Magnus One BIOS were the same? (when there is a BIOS update, Zotac doesn't distribute individual BIOS for each PC either, right)
2.4. Can anyone telll me what the best settings in an unlocked BIOS would be to get the fans quieter / not having them suddenly speed up so much under workload without loosing too much processing power and without endangering the CPU / hardware?
Please enlighten me...
