GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 (rev. 1.3) Add TPM?
#1
Hello, I have an old GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 (rev. 1.3) computer that I use for work. That is running Windows 10. I’m trying to get Windows 11 on it. I have tried adding a TPM module to it. I have tried a 20 Pin TPM 1.2 Encryption Security Module For AOM-TPM-9655V for Supermicro ASUS and a 2.0 Gigabyte Module. That both has the right power/data pin layout information. The same power/data layout that’s on the Motherboard/user manual. I thought it would work and sadly the Bios didn’t see them and so didn’t Windows. I was wondering if there is anyway adding this feature to the beta Bios of the PC. The Motherboard does support TPM. But I’m not to sure on what TPM module version and model to use. I can’t find any information on the Internet about it. I would love to try and get Windows 11 working on it. I understand it’s an old PC and the CPU isn’t supported. But thought maybe I could try. Since it supports secure boot and TPM.

The last U1D Beta bios is here.

Thank you

If you aren't in too much of a rush, I should be able to test this in a few months when I have time out of school.

I have the same motherboard and a tpm module lying around that I could test. It's just one of those cheap TPM 1.2 Supermicro clone modules though.

Also, my recommendation would be to not use the beta bios as all the beta bioses I found to be quite unstable for that board. There were a lot of features left out on them and I just was never able to get them to work quite right.

I have also read that those modules can be flashed with different firmwares, although I haven't tested that myself.

Edit:

Is there any extra options that show up in the bios when you boot up with the module plugged in? I would try flashing back to version F13 and checking if there is a TPM section in the Advanced Bios Features Section.
