Hi Folks,
first Post here.
i have a MSI X58 Pro E Motherboard running a Xeon E5649.
Most (if not all) X58 BIOS have a faulty VT-d Function (something related to DMAR Table), see the X58 Section in the following Link.
https://wiki.xen.org/wiki/VTd_HowTo
This is due to an incorrect BIOS handling VT-d.
As Asus for example released a BIOS which fixes that VT-d error, but MSI did not, i wanted to ask you guys if you could have a look at the current MSI Bios and transfer the fix, that ASUS did to the MSI Bios.
The MSI BIOS is here:
http://msi-ftp.de:8080/main.html?download&weblink=d0edff168f2c6e3ef7816b43590ba6bd&realfilename=7522_8g3.zip
The fixed Asus Bios Changelog:
https://www.asus.com/de/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_X58/HelpDesk_BIOS/ => see description
The BIOS itself is this https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LG...S-1402.zip
I would really appreciate it if an expert could have a look at this and if its not to much work, edit the BIOS to make the Board VT-d usable.
I just bought that Board, built a very nice esxi box including a GRID K2 with it just to find out, that VT-d is kapoot on that BIOS, which renders the new box kind of useless for me.
Any Help is appreciated - I gladly would donate some $ to whoever gets it done.
Have a nice day
