[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad T540p Battery Whitelist
#1
Is anyone aware of a BIOS whitelist for batteries? I've built a T540p up from a load of bits added a nice screen and keyboard. But it refuses to accept or charge any batteries (works fine from the power adapter). I'm wondering whether I should buy a bios chip reading tool dump the BIOS and start grovelling about in it. Or is it an issue with the motherboard or the power management hardware. Cheers Sam

Hi
"Battery whitelist" does not exist...the control of the battery is carried out by the EC
If that's all you need, no need to buy a programmer

Thanks Dudu; What's the process for finding out what versions of the T540p EC relate to what battery functions? Is the EC firmware is separate from the main BIOS ? or part of the same package?
