Thanks for replying, i tried looking up but could not get the details. My D620 already has the BIOS A10 from the dell website, and this modded BIOS version says "D620 A10 With Dell SLIC 2.1" can i install the same version A10 again on my laptop ? Can someone please reply with some more details.

Bios mod Dell Latitude D620 A10 Dell 2.1 M09 SLIC By 1234s282.EXE worked for me.
Already had A10 Bios installed , so before the seven install ran the update it said 10 to 10 clicked ok. Flashed ok
Next ran RwV1.4 and looked at the file and indeed it had been set to 2.1
Next downloaded a supposedly Dell Ultimate install. Not virgin it had OEM files of $ and $$ with a seven loader.
Replaced The Oem file with a found Genuine DELL_OEM_ALL_SILVER replaced the $oem$ with the true one. Now only a $$ file burned new iso with ultra iso
Installed flawless. After install ran OpaTool v0.7.exe and it reported back that indeed registered and files all in place.
My computer properties reports my Dell D620 is now a Dell Ultra Power 9000.
Cant explain the differences but my downloads before the changes where in the 600Kbs range max, now they are in the 2.5Mbs Max range. Doc sis 3 Modem in a 12/2 area.
Computer gets all updates and passes genuine Awesome Now where do I donate at.

I'm sorry to bother you guys, but I've been searching around for about an hour. I think I've got it, but I'd like to be certain before I flash.

If I flash the following bios

Then do a clean install from a Dell OEM Win7 disc, I should be fine, right?

The thing thats throwing me off a little is all the certificate stuff. But as I understand it, thats only without an OEM disk.

I also read somewhere that there may be another step required for 7 Ultimate.

I know I'm a noob, but I contribute to forums on topics that I'm familiar with. This just isn't my field

Thats all Smile

If the dell OEM disc matches the version you wish to install , the oem certificate and key will be instered automatically Smile

If SLIC 2.1 is present in bios it will be activated after installation (without internet)

This is a very old thread but I am just upgrading my XP Dell 620 to Windows 7 Ultimate (I know very late to the party)
Is the modded BIOS still available for this old machine I would like to update the BIOS (current version A10) before installing ultimate.
