ASUS RAMPAGE III EXTREME BIOS - V1601 - Updated OROM MOD

Personally I am impressed with this achievement, what do you think? what is your opinion on this method?

NVME support.
That can be done without full UEFI support.

The maintainer (İsmailTPC_Hastanesi) there created one for our R3E on 1/3/2023 (BIOS v1502 for PCI\VEN_2646&DEV_2263).

I have no need for this as my R3E is a NAS unit now.  it's OS is in ramdrive after booting.

İsmailTPC_Hastanesi will not redo another R3E BIOS.  so you gotta buy Kingston VEN2646 SSD module.

I can update his v1502 modules.  But this may break ram compatibility without the updated algorithms from v1601.

It might be worth utilizing if they come up with a multi-device support patch, instead of one per mainboard.

In the end, Ismail's bios has no interest for my system with my nvme, even if it remains an excellent job that I thought was impossible on x58.
With it's true the default of not being multi-device, if that is possible?

Regarding your ramdrive,
it loads after a first start of Os, is that right? or after starting central unit: load Os automatically in ramdrive then run???
what OS are you using for your nas? which one do you think is most suitable for maximizing x58 performance?
And concerning the drivers installed on the OS, do you prefer those contained in the OS or manual installation of specific x58 R3E drivers?

Regarding RAM compatibility,
with the update to 1601, where can I find the compatible modules? is this theoretically ok for: Gskill Trident X 2133 9-11-11-31 (48gb)?
because even if it works well, I notice that in the bios the tRFC is (automatically) at 232, the maximum choice is 160 and the specifications
of these modules are 278 or 279.

Thanks in advance for your expertise.

You can find information about his work in his original thread >here<

DISCLAIMER: bios is provided "as is". Flash it at your own risk! I won't be responsible for any damage.

BIOS Details:
Built from latest R3E BIOS (BETA) version.  As I understand it,  the only change from the official 1502 and the latest available 1601 R3E beta bios was Memory Compatibility.

The individual Option ROMs were then updated to newer firmware and/or BIOS versions.  Option ROMs updated are IRST (Intel SATA/RAID Controller), Marvell (SATA-6G), Jmicron (PATA), NIC and injected ASUS SLIC 2.1 tables:

CPU Microcode Updated to latest [106A4 Revision 13 (2015-06-30), 106A5 Revision 1D (2018-05-11), 206C2 Revision 1F (2018-05-08), 206C0 Revision 1C (2009-12-14)].
INTEL ICH10R SATA RAID Controller: v13.5.0.2164 (SSD TRIM support in AHCI and RAID modes)
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller - Bios : v1.0.0.1038*
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller - Firmware: v2.1.0.1413
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller - Bootloader: v1.0.1.0002b*
JMicron JMB36X Controller: v1.08.01 (AHCI Patched)
INTEL 82567V-2 Gigabit Network: v1.5.50
SLIC 2.1: ASUS (SSV3/MMtool method)
(* == patch was pre-existing from ZIO Mod S17)

WHICH TO CHOOSE:
Which to use:

Flash Sxx:
Only use if you run Windows 10 and want INTEL SATA in RAID mode.
Windows 10 requires updated RST software, which in turn requires newer ROM for compatibility.

Flash Sxxi:
If you run Windows 10 and use INTEL SATA in AHCI mode.  Also for ANY other OS using either AHCI or RAID modes.
As no RST software compatibility needs to be overcome, it is best to run the proper ROM for our ICH10 chipset.  (fastest benchmarks with this ROM).

Flash Sxxt:
If you need ALL the add-on hardware enabled at the same time.
the newer NIC OROM takes up too much memory to fit everything.  This one uses the older/smaller OROM that can still fit in BIOS memory with all the other devices enabled.

DOWNLOAD LINK:
All my releases are now hosted via Gdrive. Download Link
NOTE:  S23o is the three BIOS releases above with older CPU Microcodes.  These are not patched for Spectre/Meltdown bugs, but also do not have the associated performance hit.

Greetings, I don't know if the topic is correct but I want to know if you have a solution to this situation:

I have a rampage iii extreme and I have a Sapphire Nitro Rx470 8GB Video Card, and it works fine, but I bought a PowerColor Radeon™ RX 5700 8GB GDDR6 graphics card. The detail is that it does not boot windows, before the logo appears the screen remains stuck in black. I can enter the bios but apparently there is something that does not allow Windows to load, I think it could be the bios but I think this MOBO is very old and no one is getting updated bios anymore. If by any chance you have a solution to this I would appreciate it if you would share it with me.
When I install both graphics cards, the new and the old one, somehow the MOBO detects the older graphics card and then it starts Windows and detects both graphics cards. But only the new graphics does not allow Windows to start.

The real question is can your IMC in your CPU handle 2133mhz RAM.  Mine could not.  My non-ecc memory capped out at 1866.  as a NAS i have ecc 1600 and never pushed it.

(your other questions are off-topic to bios and it's capabilities. PM me for off-topic)

Rolling back to the NVME discussion.
It looks pretty easy to add to any x58 bios, including my versions.
There is a great guide here: NVME Option ROM

Click the link to the OpROM thread to grab the module and edit tool.
Then you just need MMtool 3.19 or 3.22 to follow the guide with.

Then you'd have the best possible on the R3e.
native NVME boot, optimized OROMs, etc.

Still not an worthwhile option for my system..  And I have stacks of SATA SSDs here to replace it's current mirror boot drives.
I don't want to open a can of worms here with NVME discussion..  Start a new thread or PM me.
