#51
@genius239, The flash has been complete. Everything seems to be working/
Question though. How do i enable throttlestop to manage the cpu voltage and other turbo settings?

@Zypher4

How to activate Throttlestop & XTU ? try the below steps.

(1). Go into new advanced tab >> Power & Performance >> CPU - Power Management Control >> CPU Lock Configuration ,then disable "CFG Lock" & "Overclocking Lock".

(2). Go into OverClocking Menu ,then enable "XTU Interface".

(3). If you only need to activate Throttlestop , only need to do step1.

@genius239 Is there any way to completely disable CFG Lock, it keeps turning on every reboot..

@Zypher4

1.This is a special bug that is only exist in ASUS laptops. It will automatically enabling "CFG lock" when every turn on or restart. So ,if you don't disable it when it every boot ,Throttlestop will inactive again.

2. In your mod ,i have tried to avoid this bug. The way is that don't let users to touch "OverClocking Feature" under OverClocking Performance Menu and keep it at disable. So ,now you can't see "OverClocking Feature" under OC menu as i hidden it and forcibly let the OC Menu appear all options. This is my solution ,but this is not effective for every users ,somebody is no any problem , but now you still got the bug.

3. Although it's very annoying ,but if you're hope Throttlestop is active ,you have to disable it every boot. Or if you only do undervolt for cpu core , try built-in "Voltage Configuration >> Core Voltage Offset" again. I have added its range to maximum -120mv inyour mod. (Don't directly set it to -120mv , test it by decrease 10mv one by one is the safest way , until to find the best stable value for your laptop.)

@genius239

So then I believe even if i reflash the mod it wont stay on unlock for a long while. What i noticed is that with a -110mv it already freezes the system at bootup, while in TS i can push -125mv on the core fine without any issues . I suspect the cache cant handle too much but they are combined in that one setting (bios).
Anything I could try?

@Zypher4

If you wanna continue to use Throttlestop ,you have to spend few seconds to disable "CFG Lock" while every turn on or restart the laptop. Bios built-in undervolt only for cpu core and it can't control cpu cache undervolt. I knew it's annoying ,but no solution now.

Hello everyone,

I found this site while looking for an answer to my problem. Almost 2 years ago I got myself an ASUS ROG Strix G15 G512LV, all was good until it began to random freeze (once a day average over this time) and to get over this a forced power off was necessary.
The changes this laptop went through before the freezes started were the following:
- BIOS updates as new versions were released (I don't remember the first version)
- a new mouse
- integrated GPU update (the intel UHD)
- added a 2nd SDD.
To find the cause of the issue I did the following:
- did a rollback from device manager of the firmware = didn't help
- used the old mouse with which it was working fine = didn't help
- unistalled from device manager the intel UHD GPU driver = didn't help
- did a RAM test with MemTest86 and test resulted in no error = didn't help
- did a SDD check with chkdsk and the result was no error = didn't help

Windows Reliability History didn't provide useful info about the crash/freeze, other then "Windows was not properly shut down".
Nothing relevant until a recent freeze and after the device booted up (from a forced shut down) at the login screen the image started to tear with vertical lines and artifacts, flickers, mostly when I was moving the cursor over the desktop, it fixed itself after a restart but freezes still happen.

Can this issue be caused by the bios updates?

Hope this wasn't a boring read.
Thank you for any advice/response.

Hi all,
I tried multiples solutions with AMIBCP, UEFI-Editor online and manually.
I want to show the Chipset option (need to go on the NVIDIA only, needed to run mods NVIDIA cause GPU error 43)
I tried to delete the "Suppress If" for Chipset, tried to edit the value of "Access Level" (05, 09).
I run out of idea. Bios freeze when trying to go in advanced menu, or Chipset not show.
Strange things, I tried on the "Advanced" tab too, more options are show, but not all.
Is this possible for you to mod the BIOS in order to show the Chipset tab please ?

Thanks in advance
