Greetz, G.

Did you click to open the folders? It works fine for me in Firefox and Chrome.

Question Ginie. Is the 1402.bin file you posted the one directly from Asus or is it one that you've tried to build up from your 1304 BIOS?

Hi Despoiler,

the 1402.bin I had posted has some moderately updated AGESA and Silicon Image eSATA BIOS. that's it. I had received this BIOS from ASUS support some days ago.

Strange thing that's going on with my browsers... I have opened the folders but get nothing Sad Amazingly, other friends can state the same phenomena: the resources site is EMPTY.

The reason I asked if the 1402 was from Asus (implying unmodified) is that it didn't fix the video post issue on my ATI 5850. I'm still waiting for Asus to get back to me with the original file. Their email support is so slow.

I have a proposal....I'll email whatever files you need off that website if you send me the unmodified 1402 file so I can test. Either Asus didn't fix the problem fully (yay for beta) or maybe your updates have broke their fixes. Send me a private message with your email address if you are interested.

Here you go, Crosshair BetaBIOS 1402.zip, just as it came from ASUS support :-) I'll take all the Nvidia MediaShield ROMs version 10.0.035... both of them, please and just post them here in an ZIP. Thank you! Smile

@1234s282:

I have attached my carefully modified 1402, where most essential ROMs and BINs have been upgraded. More details in the Changelog.txt within the RAR.

Now if you could, please try to ONLY include the 30Kb version of NCPUCODE in the (SP) via hex editor as you had done before. But beware, if during the process MEMINIT is altered, it will cause things to go south.

I had observed that when MEMINIT had been altered (by CBrom195), its compressed size grew from 58.35Kb to 58.36Kb. This small difference changes everything and fails to initialize RAM at the BIOS POST.

So it will only be worth a try when you can move 30kb version of NCPUCODE without altering MEMINIT Smile Would be great if you tried, but please make NO CHANGES to the rest of the ROMs Big Grin

Btw, ej52's method doesn't do the trick as it includes the code as a new numbered item "new CPU Code", where it really should be in the (SP) block...

Good luck & greetz, G.

Hi ej52,

sorry for the blame, I'm impressed! I'll try again to see where I made the mistake... thanks for updating the 1402.bin -- it flashes with no issues Smile

Lol wait a sec. The "trick" where ti makes a new CPU item is NOT valid. The method he describes for extraction is correct, because he makes it read only to have CBROM pull the microcode. But to reinsert the /cpucode makes that bin comrpessed which contradicts the whole putpose of N CPUCODE which means non-compressed. Just to clarify because ej52 knows this too I believe and its good for all other modders to be aware of as well.

Thanks again,
TheWiz
