Alienware x17 R2 BIOS unlock to see 96Gb RAM
#1
Hello everyone. I have the following problem: I have an Alienware x17 R2 laptop. It currently has two 16GB RAM sticks installed, I want to upgrade it to 96GB RAM (yes, I really need that much RAM). The problem is that the laptop does not see the 48GB RAM sticks, or rather, if you install them not in pairs but one 48GB and one 16GB, the laptop starts up and can even read the SPD and all the information about the memory, but the system, unfortunately, does not see this memory. I have already tried three different 96GB kits and the result is always the same. Since it has been experimentally established that 12th generation Intel processors can work with this amount of RAM (on other laptops with such a processor and even the Intel Processor N100, for which only 16GB of RAM is officially declared, it sees 48GB sticks), one of the memory manufacturers pointed out to me a possible limitation in the BIOS. I would be very grateful for your help in this matter, especially considering that I will not be able to return one of the RAM kit and it will remain with me in any case. I have attached various reports to this message.

Thank you very much in advance, Anton
