Acer Veriton X6640G
#1
I have a Acer Veriton X6640G SFF PC running i5-6500 cpu, I would like to mod the bios to get 7th gen cpu support. It seems that this uses propriety Acer bios, but I am not sure. I have CH341a programmer. Any help or advice before I start trying things would be most appreciated.

Hi DeathBringer, thanks for responding. I have since found that this PC is using AMI bios. There is a newer version called X6650G that has 7th gen support, however the mobo hardware is a little different. CPU-Z screen shot is attached.

So there is no simple way to add support of Kaby Lake to this system.

Thanks for investigating this. So I assume there is a way to do this, but it would require a lot of effort and would not be worth the trouble? Is there any chance of me doing this myself? I am just starting out in this bios modding area. Cheers

No chance. I can't do this too.
