I have one cheap Foxconn A6VMX board which I damaged while resetting CMOS, manual did not include procedure, and it seems the really old procedure I was used to, is a no no.
Anyways, now it only boots right after CMOS reset, and never on the second boot, or after BIOS changes. I have seen it boot after BIOS changes, but it always hangs immediately.
Living with no CMOS is not much of a problem, single I can edit the BIOS just fine with AMIBCP 3.37, and I have an external MX25L8005A programmer.
I have tried another MX25L8005A chip, replacing button battery with new button battery, and 3.6V cordless phone battery, no changes. It won't boot without battery, I tried shorting the battery holder, won't boot, and with diode, it booted once, and then nothing.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it boot without a battery, or how to edit BIOS to make it boot without battery, or edit BIOS to always assume a CMOS reset, but above all, not ask F1 to setup, F2 to continue due to CMOS reset, already set failsafe not to halt on keyboard, mouse, floppy.
Any help would be much appreciated, and I'm willing to try anything reasonable . I have external programmer, so I don't think corrupt BIOS will be much of a problem.
Thanks
