Since this forum section is described as being "General help with your BIOS that isn't specific to a platform or system configuration" I will ask ...
Where and how do you find the chip on the motherboard and how do you find out the brand or style of cmos it is?
Brand or style being AMD, Award etc..
I have a motherboard that suddenly won't post and I am trying to see if it can be repaired.
I honestly can't remember the logo the last time I watched it bootup
It has uefi and it will not post or give any trouble leds other than power. Testing I removed ram, hd, cpu fan connection and never got beeps or trouble led.
If I remove the cpu case fans will not start, when the "power on" button is pushed. With cpu installed they will.
My guess is it is AMD bios (that and many other brands is mentioned on the box...lol) and since it uses a Intel chip that will be my final answer..
Where should I look for info on my next step, in this journey?
FYI Asus Prime Z270 A with i7 7700K Cpu
Update
I will be trying this tomorrow and try renaming it a few different things.
