Hp TM2 1020EP whitelist
#1
Hi
I have a HP TM2 1020ep and I am trying to change the wifi card, because the original only supports 2,4 Ghz.

I am getting the dreaded 104 error form HP
Hp TM2 1020EP
Bios InsydeH20
Bios version F.09 A
this is the 2Mb bios file size.

bios link:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49001-49500/sp49449.exe

Current adapter:
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_0280

New Wifi adapter:
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_432B&SUBSYS_1509103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_432B&SUBSYS_1509103C
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_432B&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_432B&CC_0280

If not possible to bypass the bios wifi card check, I would appreciate some help to change the bios to accept this card.

Many thanks

Thank you for your prompt response.

Is this the "whitelist check procedure" removal or you have changed the bios to accept my new card?

Yesterday I have changed the bios on my own and replaced the strings of the original card by the new one, and now it is accepting the new card and giving the 104 error for the original one, so it worked.

If your file has the whitelist procedure removal I will test it.

Thanks again.

Here goes the modified file that changed the IDs of the cards.

I have it installed on my HP TM2 1020ep and its working.
It nows accepts my dualband wifi card from Broadcomm.

Because I have modified the string of the original card (a 2.4Ghz Broadcomm WIFI card) my laptop now gives the "104 error..." with the original card.

This proves that its possible to install other cards not orininal on the whitelist.

Flash at your own risk.

enjoy
