Acer Aspire AX3810
#1
Hello,
New thread from request
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-un...0#pid25110

(and thanks for the Warning, BTH)

Here's a "clean" post for Acer X3810 Bios
Motherboard is ACER WG43M (Intel Edition)

Bios is AMI
Attached; 2 bios, (what is the difference? )
P01.B1 BIOS 2.0 MB 2009/12/08 - too big, uploaded to Fileserve
P01.A2L BIOS for Linux 723.1 KB 2009/06/11

P01.B01 :

(P01.B1)

(P01.A2L)
(A linux edition for the bios? ?!, )

Thanks for your help!

What menu setting you do not need? At the moment I can only replace unused menu items with more handy ones Wink

Oh, and it's not a Linux version of the BIOS but of the flasher. The BIOS image must be the same.

Hello,
I just need the Overclocking options : FSB, voltage, etc ...

I bought the E5200 for its overclocking possibility , Wink

Thanks!

EDIT: I don't need the Linux one, just the B01 ...

EDIT: After visiting acer i realised the bios files are different even though the models only slightly differ.

Secondly, you are stating that nothing is hidden? or that Antimony can add features? IIRC, when i used the modded bios, i had no FSB options for overclocking, except that RAM overclocking was unlocked, if anyone else remembers, after changing any value in the RAM section i would have to do a CMOS reset because the values we're not accepted.
I am very keen to see where this goes and if the features added/modified can prove a better mod than the previous.

Good Luck Antimony Smile!

P.S After reflashing my acer bios it shows my model to be Acer x5900, i have an x3900 can i fix this?

Hello,
To avoid misunderstanding :

At the time of the request, I didn't know if the functions were hidden or missing. I thought they were hidden, but couldn't tell for sure Smile
What i do need, is overclocking options, the most frequent ones, but:
-Is my motheboard capable of overclocking? I can't tell...

I opened my computer and alimentation is very weak so i know overcloking options will be low... (FSB from 200 to 233 and it's almost 3ghz...)

If it's not possible... then it's not possible... Thanks for your time anyway Wink

Edit 1: Hardware details:

SMBios version 2.6,
Acer WG43M
Bios: AMI P01-B01 11/12/2009 (11th of December), size 1024Kb
Northbridge P45/P43/G45/G43
Southbridge 82801JR (ICH10R)
DDR3 Kingston PC3-10700 (667Mhz)
Intel E5200 Wolfdale, stepping A - Rev R0

EDIT 2: Hardware is capable... It supports 1066 FSB
But here:
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Acer-Aspire-X5810?pid=5186#pid5186
It has already been asked... there's no hope.

However here:
http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/manuals/acer/0000/servicemanuals/SG_ASX3810_ASX5810_0513.pdf
Overclocking options are enable in screen caps:

and, Page 28 of the PDF , we can see in the comment :
" Note: Remember to disable the Spread Spectrum feature if you are
overclocking. A slight jitter can introduce a temporary boost in clock
speed causing the overclocked processor to lock up."

-> Ok so disable spread spectrum if you overclock... How do you overclock?
It seems to me very hardware capable...

There are NO hidden settings. The ptions you see are all the options your going to get until someone figures out howt o add overclocking features to a bios that doesnt have them
