SLIC has been updated on this retail BIOS to appear as OEM so that the OEM ASUS Windows 7 version stays activated.
**
Mobo: M4A78LT-M(CM1630)--Essentio CM1630 Desktop
Attached is a modified ROM, originally intended for the retail M4A78LT-M mobo, which has been modified so that its ROM ID and Model match that used on the OEM release, allowing it to be flashed to the OEM mobo. This modified bios will enable features that were stripped from the OEM Bios on the M4A78LT-M(CM1630) mobo. The modified bios is version M4A78LT-M-ASUS-0802.
This ROM will enable the following options in the Bios, previously stripped from the OEM version: JumperFree Configuration, CPU Configuration (core unlocker/unleash), NorthBridge Configuration, Memory Configuration, ECC Configuration, APM Configuration, HW Monitor Configuration, and ASUS O.C. Profile.
Flash at your own risk.
Hey Do you think this will work for the cg1330-07 same board but I have a x6 1045t?
Thanks
What is the the model number on your mobo?
Same as the one your running but it has (cg1330) instead of (cm1630).
I did flash it with the AFUDOS236ES but after flashing I lost my ethernet.
So I flashed back to stock.
Sorry for got to mention I used the factory M4A78LT-M bios which made everything work awesome but the ethernet and of course my windows deactivated.
The little change between the retail and the factory board is the ethernet on the retail is a Realtek RTL8168/8111, and the factory is Realtek RTL8112. BUMMER

Interesting, I use a PCI network card in my computer, so that is one thing I may not have noticed. Once I get that computer put back together I will see if it is having the same issue.
Did your BIOS not see the onboard ethernet, or was it just in Windows?
If you do get the ethernet issue resolved, or remedied with a pci card, I can upload a modified SLIC copy of the retail BIOS so that it no longer de-activates the ASUS OEM copy of Windows. I actually have both...but decided not to post the other because it requires you to flash it with the ES version of AFUDOS, and I had already made the cm1630 version of it.

Soo I took back the 1330 and picked up the 1630, reason.
I can get a 6 core for 180 and paid 449 with a 40 rz cert at bestbuy. and had 8 gigs of ram already so I save 379 bucks.
I can confirm that you lose ethernet after a flash to your modded bios but I am picking up a killer K1 today to make up for my loss. LOL
Awesome job on the modded bios by the way. A side note if you don't back up your original bios before the flash you cant go back No ethernet No genuine windows. Suck so make sure you make a back up of the original bios FIRST!!!
I am in the process of snagging a BE 955 also.
Thanks again and if you find a way for the onboard ethernet to work let me know!!

If you need to go back to the OEM BIOS, you can download the update from the ASUS website and flash it with the engineering version of AFUDOS via DOS and it will fix Windows activation and the ethernet. Also, if you don't mind the ethernet, your modded bios can be changed (the uploaded version should also have this) so that it appears as OEM to the OS, so at least you don't lose Windows activation; that is what I actually have on that board now and it still appears as OEM firmware to Windows activation.
Also, I put a Phenom ii (AMD Pii 555 x2 BE) processor in that board and it overclocked to 4.2Ghz while using only a corsair H50 CPU cooler! Having to use an ethernet card in trade for overclocking ability is worth it in my opinion
Hopefully this can help someone else out there that likes to tinker and modify their computer!
Great find on that ethernet card difference, btw.

I got the same cpu as you now and unlocked the other 2 cores and BAM quad! I love the 555!
And I just got a ae1000 n usb dongle for now and bought a killer K1 of ebay for 40 bucks.

I'm problem free, lightning fast with your file!!
Thanks so much for sharing it. Really!
Your instructions worked smooth-
I opened Asus Update, flashed from desktop, restarted,
and the entire process took me all of 3 minutes! Wow!
Huge thanks again,
xxxx Patti

Hi everyone, I have a few questions about this mod. I used it and it worked flawlessly! Thanks! First, how exactly could i get the original bios back if need be using afudos? I searched everywhere and cannot seem to find that anywhere. Second as far as the cg1330-07 goes, from what i understand this rom is compatible with it but i'll lose onboard ethernet and windows validation? i just want to make sure before i get in too deep. Thanks again for your time and all the hard work!

Is there some kind of update for this because my asus updater will not allow me to flash to the new bios because the version is older than the one that is on my computer. I would really hate to use Asus EZ-flash since i am already nervous doing it through updater.

SV - thanks for the bios update as well - I was able to flash the new bios - I also have the cm1630-08. All is fine after the flash, but I also lost my onboard network adapter. I flashed back to the original bios, and still not working. I have uninstalled the lan driver for the original bios from asus web site for the cm1630 while under the original bios. Tried flashing back to the bios here, installing the lan driver for this mobo from asus site. I have reset the cmos after the flash by moving the jumper and back, and removed the battery for a few mins. I can't get the lan onboard network adapter to work - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The bios on my machine prior to the flash was the lastest on asus site for the cm1630, which was 0502 - which was dated newer than the 0802 bios, so I used the afudos tool to flash the new bios - again, all that went fine, flashed ok, was able to flash back to the 0502, and even tried again to the 0802, which is were I am back now. The only other change I noted was the cpu fan under the 0802 run a lot fast, but if I switch the setting to auto in the EPR-4 engine utility, seems to be back to normal - just doesn't stay in the setting after a reboot - not too concerned with that, mainly just trying to get the network adapter working.
another note - upon bootup, the lights on the adapter flash, but once booted up, no lights on the lan adapter flash - thanks again in advice for any assistance.
