Current card:
Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n
VEN_14E4
DEV_4727
SUBSYS_145C103C
I want to replace it with a Dell 1510, but when I do the steps to remove the current card and boot, it doesn't show up as an unknown device in Device Manager, so I can't post the ven/dev/subsys for it.
with this model there is a high risk of brick the laptop, you must first prepare a recovery USB stick with HPQFLASH, let me know when you will be ready.

I recently replaced the motherboard on a Compaq Presario F579WM. I am using the same WIFI card that was used on the old board but am getting the 104 error when booting the new board. I have updated the BIOS to the current version F20 (SP48036). Would love to find out if the whitelist can be removed or at least modded to be able to use the original card. And on a side note...why isn't the original card (supplied by HP and it still has the HP spare part sticker on it) in the whitelist of the repalcement board? Are they that specific for each board? Anyway, thanks in advance!
