Fellow Programmers

I am a linux kernel programmer but I am totally new to bios programming.

As the username suggests, I am dyslexic and cannot read through large volumes of material. Would someone please reply to this post with answers to the following questions:

1) I would like to get recommendations on purchasing a bios burner

2) Advice on burning my bios

3) Inserting arbitrary C or ASM code on top of or in addition to standard commercial bioses

4) Anything else you think I need to know
