I've got a BIOS with a Slic v2.1 already...
BUT - it has a feature in the BIOS I want either switched off or erased completely if possible. I looked at Phoenix BIODEdit and realised I was in too deep.
It has the feature HDD Password. No matter what drive I put in this machine, it asks for a HDD Password, that I do not have! If I hot swap the drive in after POST it is used fine (installed Windows 7 to it).
Reboot = HDD Password!!
If I put a different drive in, it still asks for a password. The drive in another machine it boots normally. So it's definitely not the drive.
The BIOS is question is for a Laptop (Acer Aspire 5000) called 3A32 and is Slic v2.1 here - http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads....?p=236958&viewfull=1#post236958
IF there is another way to remove this HDD Password thing without knowing it, please let me know. I've tried a program called unlock6.exe that removed the Supervisor and User password, but failed with this HDD one. Next is the CMOS battery, but I have a horrible feeling it's not going to work.
