Hi everyone.. new here, sorry if this is the wrong section to post this in but I have
a HP p6313w with a M2N78-LA mobo that is no longer booting. To be exact, it appears that the mobo is
no longer finding any of the drives HDD and CD-ROM..
The computer turns on and you are welcomed with the blue HP screen that has 4 options. One of the options was (F9) Diagnostic
In diagnostic it test the cpu, ram, and hdd.. All pass except for the HDD, It says
no drives detected with a red error code that reads : BIOHD-2
I've looked online through forums looking for how to fix the biohd-2 error and everyone seems to think that it's a bad HDD. I have tested the HDD in another one
of my computers and the mobo finds it right away and I can view all of it's content
so I know it's not the HDD. I am now looking into updating the bios to see if that would possibly fix the communication problem between the drives and mobo.
My bios is revision 5.13 and I have never updated bios before and have tried a few times to update the SP46428.EXE with AFUDOS but I get this message
"-ERROR: Can not analyze ROM file. ROM file may be corrupted"
I am unable to update the bios and don't know how else to get it updated
Any help would be greatly appreciated for I am just about ready to give up on this mobo and go a different route.
