Thank you very much, TTAV134, for you quick reply and for modifying the bios. I was very nicely surprised. I have installed the modified version and it seems that everything is working ok.

I succeeded to modify the bios so that it recognize an atheros wifi card, but I could not eliminate the white list entirely, because the 55 8b ec hexadecimal value, that hspumanti mentions on this site http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Ge...nsyde-BIOS, was not in the block between 3100300034002d0055 and 4d 5a

P.D.1. After having tried more wifi cards, I want to set out the results, in case it may be of any use for the others members.
1. Broadcom wifi Card (installed by the manufacturer) wifi ON= blue wifi led//wifi OFF=orange wifi led
2. IntelPro 3945 wifi card wifi ON= unstable wifi led( blue/orange) // wifi OFF= orange wifi led
3. Atheros 5007EG card wifi led always orange.

P.D. 2. I don’t want to take unfair advantage of you, but if I don’t ask too much, I would like to know if you can eliminate the white list for a HP Pavilion dv6880, bios type Phoenix F.58 ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39501-40000/sp39862.exe.

Regards

@ c0rrupts3ct0r

The protection scheme of this bios is different, much more complicated. i've never seen before, thought by patching the place where the card is detected will be enough. I have now to figure out in wich module is the second step of protection.
Can you give the EXACT error message concerning the missing card, that may help me to find the module.
regards

let me know
works, thanks... no error messages now Smile

Thank you once more for your work. I installed the archive modified by you and everything is working correctly. I didn’t know there was a F5A version for the dv 6000 series, as on the downloads page for dv 6880 it appears only the F.58A version.

P.D. I am trying to use PhoenixTool v.1.25 and v.1.84 in order to open a *.FD archive, but in a few seconds the following error appears: ERROR 5 The application can not start because your configuration is wrog. Reinstalling the aplication may solve the problem. However, if I try to open a *.WPH archive, the above mentioned error doesn’t appear anymore. Do you have any ideea what the error is due to?

Regards
