Bios Mod Request. HPM2N61-AR MOBO _SP40834 Flash
#1
Recently updated my Bios using the HP website and am now getting a "BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR" When trying to fix with recovery disc i get the "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY" Error. How can I reflash to get this working again? I have the ROM file and everything I need as far as the manufacturers software but every attempt to make a bootable CD that works has failed. Please Help!!!

. My setup is as follows:
HP Pav. SLIMLINE Model :S3320F
O/S:Vista SP 2
MOBO: M2N61-AR
BIOS Ver. 5.18(Installed but caused this issue. Would like to rollback to 5.15

Some one please provide me the Image to boot so I can fix this..

As far as im aware you cannot downgrade your bios , bios updates are designed to be "one time" things and not reversible. The only way would be replacing your bios chip with one that has been pre-programmed to v5.15.

The checksum error commonly occurs ONCE after a bios update. You need to go into the bios , select to "Load setup defaults" and save changes. When the machine restarts the error should be gone. If you still get the checksum error you most likely nust need to replace the circular CR2032 battery (CMOS Battery) on the motherboard , which is very easy to do!

Try those 2 things first and let us know if you still get the error message.
