Acer e625 Unlock Request: Hidden options. CPU Upgrade Fail.
#1
Hello guys,

Im having problems with phoenix bios. It would be nice if i could unlock some features like disabling smartfan controll, allocate more memory to the graphics, etc. But my real need here is to set memory latency and fsb. My new TL-60 isn't running... And im sure its the bios blocking something. Once in my one thousand tries, it just runned flawlessly. Did prime, everest, and played starcraft II for about 8 hours. I shutted off, and it was dead once again.

The chipset is a (RS690M) Radeon x1200 and the Bios Phoenix v1.11, latest.

Latest official BIOS: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L99C4E4O
More info: http://www.lapspecs.com/wiki/acer+emachines+e625

Im trying to understand a little bit of phoenix bios editor, but seems too hard XD

Hope you guys can help me on that.

Thanks for support.

So sorry for the long delay , i am looking into your bios now and there appears to be many options to unlock! including virtualization and lots of advanced graphics overclocking settings.

Here is your reward for your patience!!! Big Grin

That's what im talking about!
Now my TL-60 is working! I am so happy! Now i can set memory to 400 and make it stable Smile

Just two more questions:
1º Can i disable SmartFan Controll somehow?
2º CPU manual VCORE / FSB possible?
3º Increase Maximum Memory Allocated to VGA possible? (Max @ 256. Should be 1GB for 2x2GB RAM, im i wrong?)

Thanks alot dude, i'll be donating few bucks asap to keep your group working.

:/
tl-60 is dead again... Sad
Looks like the bios dont want to obey me. The only change i've made was the Mem Clock. I changed to Async / 400. At first, it worked. I tought i had fixed the problem since i had played alot with it. But now its dead again. My feelings are telling me that the bios cant auto change the fsb somehow. I just dont know what to do anymore Sad

It isnt the processor since i tested for long.

I tought about a power issue but, both processors are the same slot s1g1 and it showd me no problems when i was testing, so i discarded that theory too.

Thanks for support one more time.

I still cannot run the processor. It do not boot.
After a few weeks testing now i feel better take my conclusions.

Looks like the Advance Chipset Controls cannot obey me :/ GPU Engine clock does not works - even with overclock on-, memory clock mode seems unnafective. To me it looks like the bios is blocking something, somehow. I spent alot of time and i still cannot see the problem.

So this is the information i got, please dont forget the screenshot at the first post The only change while tl-60 was working was the mem clock, wich jump'd from 319 to 400.

I Tought about a power issue, since it workd at first. The AC/DC is 19V/3.42A = 65W. Should be? The Adapter and the computer are running cool with the tf-20, even under heavy stress... 20W TDP diference means the same power needed?

Thanks for support Smile
