[REQUEST] HP Elitebook 8560p Whitelist Removal

pci-e has an inbuilt usb system that runs at a slightly reduced voltage than normal usb, this allows for combo cards such as WiFi/Bluetooth and hsdpa/WiFi, not all manufactures connect the pins on the connector for the usb to work and not all bios have support for the usb part to work and sometimes you need a manufacturer specific software to turn it on and off, hope this helps.

Do you mean toshiba's post or mine?

I only found the already posted ID at the Hardware ID Section in the Device Manager...

The Notebook won't boot after i flashed this BIOS (Only the LEDs are glowing and the fan is howling loudly)

I've made that recovery USB-Stick, how does this work to fix it?

The USB stick must be fat32 formatted, and there you must unpack http://www.mediafire.com/?8j72fqffci47zpv

It will create two files on the root and a folder called HEWLETT-PACKARD which contain another folder called BIOS and this one another called CURRENT, and into that last the same files that are on the root.

Insert the USB with the laptop powered off and pres Win+B keys, keep pressing and power on laptop. Theorically the USB will be read and the laptop will flash the BIOS blindly.

Sorry to hear it bricked, i never thought that one byte patch could do that.

I've tried it with several USB Sticks, it won't work (I found this method already at google)

No problem, i call HP on Monday and send the Notebook to them.

I think it's better to sell this WWAN module and buy the (more expensive) original HP module..

Thanks for trying to help me!

Does the laptop try to read the USB stick? HAve you tried with FN+B instead Win+B?

Try with FN+B

If it doesn't work try pressing all four arrows before power on the laptop with the stick inserted.

When i press FN+B/Windows+B or Arrow Keys the USB stick LED is flushing for 2 seconds, but after that it doesn't do anything..

I think it's too damaged to recover the BIOS..

do one thing. open your USB stick and make a copy of the 68SCF.BIN file in the root and name it SMC.BIN then try again all the keypresses procedures and see if it acts different.

You can try also to format stick in FAT not FAT32 and try again.
