[REQUEST] MCP61PM-AM BIOS Unlock (Acer, Gateway, Emachines)
#41
i already have a 955 so I could try underclocking it to 2.6-2.8ghz at 1.0 or less volts which should make it low enough watts. Also does this bios have a voltage menu ? And has anyone tried that bios on this board ?

I do not have this board, but have tried it on the Nettle2 with great success. There are two bioses that we have been using with success (read the hp thread) the abit has FSB/multiplier options, while the Biostar does have all of the voltages for memory, chipset, cpu etc. I would make a quick post on that thread and let Tango look this over for you, although I still cannot confirm whether or not the 955 will set the correct multiplier because it uses dual power plane features, but tis wortha shot.

I know there's a lot of threads/posts on this forum about the MCP61PM-*** but I am not 100% sure where the modded BIOS is posted for the board I listed above. While overclocking is always nice I am mainly looking at advanced CPU support.
Can someone post the correct, latest modded BIOS for MCP61PM-AM Rev 1.0A in an eMachines T5234 please? Also would like to know the most advanced CPU the modded BIOS will support on this mobo. I did download "abit_unlocked.bin" from an older thread. Is the correct & latest mod for this board?
Thanks in advance.

Yes , the abit unlocked mod works with most of the MCP61 boards , including yours if memory serves me correctly. You might want to read the HP nettle 2 thread which was where all the main testing was done but search around , theres plenty of info on this bios and the supported boartds around on the forum!!

I knew from this thread that the bios for my mobo has already been succesfully unlocked (MCP61PM-AM) http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-MC...?pid=19935#

however after hours of crawling through this forum i cannot find a download link, so could someone kindly post a link???? Smile

i have an athlon II x2 i would like to pop in and people have been getting phenom ii x4's to work so i'm guessing my athlon ii x2 would work fine...?

Thanks
-Ryan

EDIT: just noticed this http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Hp...HM-Nettle2 will it work?

it looks physically the same, except for colors, as my mobo.

Hi All.
Looking for some help with emachine t5062 motherboard mcp61pm-am

I just installed a athlon 64X2 dual core cpu and can't find any info in the bios about it. When I boot into win 7 it shows the cpu but performance isn't as good as it should be, and I'm guessing that it has to do with the bios. I've been reading about this but am somewhat confused. Some say it's locked and I can't find detailed instructions on how to unlock it.
If anyone can help that would be great. I could really use detailed info on how to do this. Thanks.

well you posted in Phoenix bios unlocking requests without providing a link to your bios, if you have a Phoenix bios and want someone to check it for you then post a link to the bios.

If your bios is not Phoenix then what bios is it?

I would move this to cpu upgrade requests but the fact that your upgrade works at all suggests that the cpu is supported.

Hi I am very new to this whole BIOS Modding thing, I am pretty experienced in computers however. I am also new to this forum, so if I posted in the wrong section, or did not abide by some rules, please let me know. Anyways:
I have an eMachines T5062 with an Elitegroup MCP61PM-AM motherboard. My bios is Phoenix v6.00PG, and my issue is, that I do not have an option to overclock my AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4Ghz CPU in my bios, so I am guessing that I need to mod my BIOS to have access those settings. So, my geniuses, where do I go from here? Keep in mind a am a noob to this whole thing, so please be patient and try to explain things. Thank you very much in advance.
