ASUS p5lp-le emery2 PHOENIX BIOS unlock? help
#1
Hi, I have an OEM ASUS p5lp-le emery2 motherboard, in my HP a1587c computer. Ive been searching the forums and found no unlocked bios or definite answer. Can someone can help me please? I have the latest bios which I found here

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/gener...R1002_USEN

I dont know how to extract the rom and mod it, and the universal bios backup 2.0 keeps coming up as a trojan so Im afraid to use it.

I wanted to unlock the bios to overclock the cpu and possibly memory, and fsb. Also wanted to see if the motherboard could be hacked to accept 45nm socket 775 cpu's, as well as quad core cpus, because it only accepts 65nm dual core. If someone could help me I would ever be so grateful!

Sorry if it looks like im asking for a lot, I'm trying to push what I can out of this nearly obsolete board, due to budget constraints.

Your motherboard has an Award-Phoenix bios and the retail one runs on AMI bios. so i don`t knew your bios type but any way,
it`s not a phoenix bios so i can`t mod it for you.
i`m sorry for this.

Oh okay thanks though. I bought a core 2 duo e6700 and want to install it. its 65nm. What do you think of installing the latest bios for P5LD2 motherboard from asus website! The specs are very close, same chipset 945p, same audio realtek 882, 4 memory slots. I really can't get a new moherboard, should I jump the gun?

it`s high risk process to flash another motherboard`s bios even it`s similar in the spec.
i will search to find if both uses the same bios but if it don`t use the same bios , i would recommend not flashing this bios.
also you should knew your mother board bios brand ( ami or award phoenix ) and post the request in the right section ( award or ami ) then they would help you unlocking it Smile
