[REMOVED] Lenovo Thinkpad x220 WWAN whitelist remove request

I'm going to give this a try. I always hate messing with the BIOS... I am using a ViDock external graphics card adapter that connects to my Expresscard slot. The cpu was throttled at 800Mhz and Lenovo recommended a BIOS update. After the BIOS update I figured that the BIOS had a whitelist that was incompatible with that particular adapter. I'm hoping this solves the problem.

I'm going to try it after class. I will let you know how things went.

Hello, first, thanks for all your work to date.

Unfortunately the modified bios (1.19) did not work for me. It flashed successfully, but I am still getting 1802 error when trying to use my Atheros AR5008 mini-PCI wifi card. Could you kindly look into this? Many thanks.

I've tried both bios files and neither one worked. I am trying to get an external graphics card to work that is connected via the Express Card slot. It is an X220 notebook that is model number 4286-CTO. It works fine with the 1.1 BIOS but fails when I update to 1.19.

I guess this whitelist only covers WiFi adapters and doesn't pertain to hardware like graphics cards and USB 3.0 ports connected via the express card port.

I am pretty new to this, got a new card, and it is blocked. I have been searching and came to a conclusion that it is not in a whitelist. Could someone help me out and remove whitelist from this bios? It would be greatly appreciated.

You better ask in ubuntu support formus, if the laptop is flashed with nonwhilisted bios it boots fine and doesn't halt wih the new wwan card. Passing that stage is out of our coverage
