Toshiba X205-S9359 v2.70
#11
Right you are. No Extreme. For some reason, I was thinking that even without the Extreme, it would still show up, and either not do anything or remain locked at Default. But it makes more sense that the BIOS would just keep it hidden.

Thanks for clearing that up. Good news: successful BIOS unlock.

You can make the same change with the bios of toshiba X200, the motherboard is the same, it is the European version of 'X205? I have a X9000 processor and not having the ability to change the multiplier bios I can not take full advantage of the processor!
The link to the original bios:

On the wireless card, just cover pin 20/21 (or both) using sellotape. I use this trick in my old notebook. It works (wifi always ON).

If you use my modified BIOS image & you like it, please consider making a donation. Thank you very much. Smile

thanks kizwan. i tried pin20 but 21 ? ok ill try it .. although u gotta see dsdt .. i posted in m1330 thread at insanelymac for x205 (latinmcg)
seems its seen but pin20 has been done and no go.. pin21 also?. ill try.
but i think its deeper than power on cause atheros21 loads. . just no wireless seen.
also a gateway ar5b91 with some pins missing frm factory wouldnt work either.
seems they added a special identfication scheme to bios to enable or disable the L0S function that i have no clue what it does.

If the wlan is powered but not working, that is driver issue. If the wlan did not get power at all, pin 20/21 trick should work (either 20 or 21 or both). So, which one you're experiencing right now? Also because your notebook able to boot into windows, this is not whitelist issue.

yah in osx its powered and shows appleairport21 loaded device id 2a. but no wireless shows. like thers some other control not power but data or pci-e bus change in all os linux. windows7, osx. its definitely some kinda incompatibility. i notice bios changelogs a lot of xb63 and xb72 LOS function disable, not for the intel 3945.

Tried this ISO file on DVD and it gets thru 90% of the erase and writes before powering off the PC and remaining incomplete. Now looking for the right file to place on my bootable USB and try again. I have the X9000 CPU and was hoping to un-lock it a bit. Also ran a DOS bootup with phlash16 against file 2670D270.IMA (from your ISO here) and it said it ran to completion, seized up and made no changes. Bottom line - the BIOS MOD for toshiba X205 (Phoenix) shown here DOES NOT WORK AT ALL !!
ADDED 3/29/12 .... Still looking for the file BIOS.WPH that will actually run with PHLASH16 and complete this mod. Wouldn't it be great if there was a directory for BIOS.WPH files to all be stored? It would defintely increase donations for your work if a new user could easily find his .WPH. Also, does anyone ever read these posts? This is the most "inactive" forum I have ever seen. HELLO, anyone there?

Is there a chance that you still have a copy of this bios v2.7 or can unlock it again? I would really appreciate it!
