[Unlocked] A08 w/ Unlocked Options & 580M GPU Thermal Throttle Removal
#41
LOL Big Grin i think you might jinx it GANDALF and will not work again Big Grin Big Grin

--- LVNeptune : you can`t get the A08 100% modified to remove throttle without this method Big Grin
now , there are special modules are restricted in the A08 original bios which make the GPU throttle at low temp..............i have figured out these modules since the first A08 modified bios which you had reported that it removed throttle but removed 3D too ..............so this was going a little crazy when i think about replacing and modifying A04 modules to see if it will be flashed properly ( that`s why i told DARIOG that this isn`t my final mod and the final one will be UNLOCKED A08 WITHOUT THROTTLE AND WITH 3DSUPPORT AND UNLOCKED MENUS) Then when you all flashed back to original A08 you found that this worked ........... it will take alot of time to make you able to only flash the A08 bios not flash the modified A04 first but you can now consider that this is the only 100% working method for removing throttle from the A08 bios and no one else has been able to find a solution for removing throttle from this bios ................ It`s just requiring intelligence to figure out the right module to change or replace and till now this still be the only TESTED MOD THAT HAS REMOVED THROTTLE AND UNLOCKED MENUS AS WELL .

HERE IN THIS PACKAGE IS FOUND THE BOTH MODIFIED A04 AND MODIFIED A08 WITH THE EXPLAIN INSIDE IT :-

http://www.mediafire.com/?2k7nb5s484dni17

THANKS ALL FOR TESTING THIS MODIFIED BIOS , THE BIOS IS FULLY UNLOCKED NOW , REMOVED THROTTLE AND KEEP 3D SUPPORT .

This is not working for me tried the final package, but A04 doesn't brick my system. Then applied your modded A08, but still throttling. I then tried Mod A04 again then Dells A08, still not joy. Sad

1 ) maybe there is a part of bios isn`t overwritten , BUT ONLY OVERWRITTEN WHEN USING CRISIS DISK RECOVERY .
2 ) maybe this part is programmed not to be flashed , IN THIS CASE THIS PART IS THE MODULES AND MODIFICATIONS I HAVE INSERTED INTO THE MODIFIED BIOS .

YOU CAN TRY FLASHING THE ORIGINAL A04 THEN ORIGINAL A08 AS I TOLD YOU ((( IF THIS FAILED TO REMOVE THROTTLE , FLASH THE A08 USING CRISIS DISK THEN SEE IF THE THROTTLE REMOVED , IF REMOVED THEN THE NO.1 IS THE TRUE POSSIBILITY )))
IF THIS FAILED , THEN ONLY MY MODIFICATIONS WILL MAKE THE THROTTLE REMOVED AS ITS VERY HARD TO DISCOVER WHAT ROUTINES IN BIOS THAT MAKED SPECIAL PARTS NOT OVERWRITTEN , IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE HERE TO DISCOVER THESE ROUTINES .

I WILL WAIT YOUR REPLY AFTER THAT I WILL TELL YOU THE SOLUTIONS FOR THIS PROBLEM .

----ALSO , IF JAMES TRIED THIS , HE SHOULD FIRST FLASH USING THE CRISIS DISK AND SEE IF THROTTLE REMOVED ,,,,,,,,IF THIS FAILED , TRY FLAHING A04 THEN A08 ( BOTH ARE THE ORIGINAL ),,,,,,,,,,,,IF THIS FAILED TOO , FLASH MY MODIFIED A04 THEN ORIGINAL A08 AND SEE IF THROTTLE WAS REMOVED .

I tried following:

1. Flash Dell A04 bios
2. Flash Dell A08 bios
3. Test throttling and 3D. 3D is there, throttling is back.
4. I flashed A08 again using LVNeptune instructions. The throttling is still there. (This is just to confirm the flashing method had anything to do with it)
5. I flashed modified A04 bios
6. I flashed Dell A08 bios.
7. Test throttling and 3D. 3D is there, throttling is removed.

Well looks like the process is reproducable with positive results. Huray.

One thing to try would be to modify the A08 bios to just unlock the hidden features to see if we can get that working without loosing this glitch. This looks more and more like a permanent solution.

Good job.

LVNeptune flashing instructions. Might be of relevance as how this glitch works.

I followed above from 1 to 6, but not able to do step 4 because my bios does not brick. Im still throttling in Dell A08! I wonder if its people who don't have 3D screen, the above will not deactivate throttling in A08?....

Step #4 is not necessary. I just did it to see if that by itself had a healing effect on the throttling issue. Also you can do the blind recovery method without bios bing bricked. You just follow the instructions from LVNeptune's thread.

You only should have to do step #5 and #6. Flash moded A04 and Flash A08 (or moded A08) through blind recovery.

However, when you're flashing back to A08 in step #6, you have to do it through that blind recovery method LVNeptune described. I have a feeling it might be a critical step for it to work and get the glitch going. If you flash it through the bios utility, than it might not work for you.

Ahmed has a package now with instructions and all the files. Try it one more time and let us know.

Guess what, it works!

I installed the Dell bios A04 from dell website and then overwrite with the modded a04 provided by Ahmed.
I used the already created USB stick recovery A08 if bricked system as follows http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienwar...ost7791370 and when booted up tested via furmark the throttle had been removed Smile

Dying to try this out tonight also Big Grin

Should I have issues if I'm already on Dell A08? Or just follow the sames steps as above Huh

YES YOU CAN FOLLOW THE SMAESTEPS .

NOW I CAN CONFIRM THIS IS 100% UNLOCKED Big Grin THANKS FOR THE TEST AND FEEDBACK Smile

Just followed all steps as well..

Bios advanced options are unlocked. Don`t have a 120hz to test 3D.. Haven't tested the throttle but I'm sure it's fixed..

However when I went to double check I had the A08 I pretended to install the Dell A08 again only because it tells you the version bios you have before flashing and I noticed now it says "N/A".. Is this normal? In the bios itself though I recalled it said A08..

@Pistol

It says N/A until you click OK. It doesn't read the BIOS version until after you select OK. Smile
