To create the Crisis Recovery disk:
1 Prepare a removable USB storage device with a capacity size greater than
10 MB.

Note that all data on the USB storage device will be cleared during the
creation of the crisis disk.

2 Set up a computer running the Windows XP or Windows Vista OS and plug
in the USB storage device into an available USB port.

3 Use the text editor to create a file named startup.nsh with the following
contents.

fs0Flash.efi/bb1/silent/sv/sd xxxxxxxx.fd (where xxxxxxxx.fd is the new BIOS
image file)

4 Copy the startup.nsh file and the following folder and files to the USB storage
device.

– EFI folder
– BIOS.cap
– PFlash.efi
– CrisisRecovery.efi
– BIOS image file

5 Eject and reconnect the USB storage device, and make sure the files are
saved to the device.

The files are not available. There is a BIOS.cap file which in theory can allow notebook with corrupted BIOS to boot into windows, hence allowing user to flash correct BIOS using normal method/tool. However, no one have yet test this to know for sure.

Why is bios modding so hard. Why can't companies just give us what we F***ing payed for .

Sorry for the bad word there... but I feel that if I paid $800 for a computer, I should do what ever the h*** I want to, without needing to hack it, just because the manufacture doesn't want me to do some things.

UEFI specification doc is available online. Also the example source code is available in the EFI Development Kit. What left is to learn 'em.

But what good is that without the recovery things for in case we F*** up the pc? Also, I am disappointed that I have to even use a modified bios for something this dumb... It should have been default in a $800 computer.

Can use BIOS programmer to recover. You can found several BIOS programmer on eBay alone.

Is this DEAD? AHMED... please update if you can or cannot do it... I'm sure people are waiting for some kind of update whether you are still working on it...it has been months. I would be more than happy to help in any way with files if you need.

no it`s not dead but if any one want to mode the UEFI successfully , he would need to read the HII header for the UEFI 2.1 documentation then start editing ..................... i have started reading it however i`m very busy in the other mods and outside the forum in my college ............. but i promise to upload some mods in a few days ...... just be patient
