DELL M18X A03 BIOS THROTTLE REMOVAL GTX580M SLI
Hi barcode , throttle in 17XR3 was in 69/70c but my mod get it to 79/80c and they were satisfied with this result .
but now they are trying modified vbios which is overclocked and easily reach 80c .

Also , i told you before in the previous posts that the modified vbios will be useless as its driver problem and told you to try older driver but you ignored these posts and seeked for vbios mod then you all have made a lot of benchmarks and useless tests and requested vbios mod to be 0.90v (which i told you it will be useless ) and finally , you are back again saying its driver problem as i told before !!!!! Just wandering you have wasted a lot of time and effort when you ignored my posts then you are back again to my result after all your long tests and posts .

Apparently nvidia said its in there drivers called dynamic clock management Smile Development is in progress to have clock management on by default but with a control panel option to override it. (yeah right! Dont hold your breath, its nvidia here)

So out of all this, it seems to be driver related

So as expected. The drivers are to blame. As researched. All the observations make sense. This is actually... good news. At least we know what's up.

Do you have any more links, barcode?
Where did you get this info?

Thanks!

Hopefully Barcode isn't actually in unfortunate circumstances and can actually respond.

Hey 0x29a!! I hope your still alive and haven't had an unfortunate accident yourself, (I do have a life among other things you know)

If you have read carefully through this thread, you would have noticed that i have been dealing directly with Nvidia and Dell to sort this out. Which obviously is not an actual problem its the way nvidia has designed/written its software.

So no there is no links to what your after!!. If you want to hear this direct from the horses mouth, i suggest you contact nvidia direct and pursue this further.

hi all,

Just to wake an older thread up and give ppl a little heads up Dell has released a new vbios revision for the 580m http://support.dell.com/support/download...eid=478843

OLD vbios version version 70.24.2B.00.04
had 3 entries
core:50.5MHz
shader:101MHz(bumped shader:270MHz)
memory:67.5MHz
---------------
core:73.5MHz
shader:147MHz(bumped shader:270MHz)
memory:162MHz
---------------
core:620MHz
shader:1240MHz(bumped shader:1289MHz)
memory:750MHz

New vbios version 70.24.2B.00.06, has 4 entries: new entry is marked in bold
core:50.5MHz
shader:101MHz(bumped shader:270MHz)
memory:67.5MHz
---------------
core:73.5MHz
shader:147MHz(bumped shader:270MHz)
memory:162MHz
---------------
core:475MHz
shader:950MHz(bumped shader:950MHz)
memory:750MHz

---------------
core:620MHz
shader:1240MHz(bumped shader:1289MHz)
memory:750MHz.

Tnx to Saltius from notebookreview

Hey Ahmed, can we adjust these entries or are they completly blocked or is this out of bios-mods league as its a gpu bios instead of motherboard.

Hi Barcode ,

i really can`t manually mod any VBIOS and i haven`t did it before ...... aslo no one in bios-mods specialized in modifying vbioses ..... i only can open it using nvidia editor and nibitor no more but can`t use hex editor to adjust as i didn`t knew what i`m doing in this .

i`m so sorry for this .
